I'm on rations for a week. Had to buy some Coors along with Stone and Dark Horse.

Deschutes Black Butte XIII: obtained. :D

But I have to wait a year to drink it. :(

I guess Spotted Cow will have to do.

Bought a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey. I had tried it before but I was pretty drunk at that point. It was better than I remember, much better than the normal overrated, overpriced Jack. It still had the flavor of whiskey, but with just the perfect amount of sweetness, which is more of a caramel or butterscotch taste than honey. It isn't syrupy, like American Honey is, it has the same consistency of regular whiskey. I liked it a bunch. This is finally a Jack product that is worth the price of the name "Jack".

Also, I came across Jim Beam Devils Cut at the liquor store. Didn't buy it because I wasn't about to buy a 35 dollar bottle of Beam without knowing something about it. It ia supposedly the "Devils Cut" from the barrels of Beam. I have no idea how they do it, but I'm intrigued. Has anyone heard anything about it?

I've also seen Devils' Cut, but I don't recall it being $35/fifth.

I was waiting for somebody else to take the plunge first and hear what they thought. :D

Although SA is not my favorite brewer, the summer sampler includes 3 solid offerings: East-West Kolsch, Rustic Saison and Lattitude 48 IPA while imho not crapping the bed with the Boston Lager, Light and Summer.

I tried the same thing and think Sam Adams is the perfect brewer for a sampler like that since their stuff tends to be pretty conservative and a good gateway to craft beer. I had never tried a Kolsch before and probably might again after trying their's. After trying their IPA and not liking it, I'll probably completely give up on IPAs. I've had a lot of Saisons and Summer Ales and thought the SA versions were pretty average.

Jack Daniels Honey.

bbdl wasn't lying. It's more whiskey than honey taste, with a hint of cinnamon at the end. It's EVIL.

Psycho Suzi's evil?

Pretty close. The only thing that prevents it from being Psycho Suzi's evil is that is still is a honey whiskey, so I dunno if it'd be an all-night-drinker. It makes for a great apertif/desertif, or a "break" from whatever you're drinking all night.

Seems like the kind of thing that'd be good with club soda. Maybe I'll pick that up once I'm stocking the NewPlace bar.

Eh, I killed off an entire bottle of it last night. And i started drinking it after I got done with the Widowmaker and all of the Nordeast I brought to the pig roast. Yeah, I was pretty drunk.

The Surdyk's sale flyer lists it at 19.99, starting July 28.
