Re: Official Drinking Thread: I'm Having A 6-Pack Attack!: Part The Sixth

I'm not saying I've been drinking, but it's 11pm on a Wednesday night, and I just poured myself a big bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares. Mmmmmmmm.

I raise my Jim Beam Black to you, Ewe. They don't know what they're missing.

Beam Black at 9am on a Wednesday. I gotta admit I'm a little jealous. :D

So for being a Budweiser product, Shock Top is not particularly bad. I may have to have one when I get home. Also while in St. Louis, I picked up a six pack of "Wild Blue" and three bottles of Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale.

Didn't pick up their Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale beer, but the sample of it was pretty good. :)

I've had Wild Blue (didn't know it was a Bud product until now), and thought it was a little sweet, but not horrible (I have some in my fridge right now, actually). I liked BluCreek's Wild Blueberry better, but it's harder to find (even here).

Unrelated to blueberries, but related to drinking - I finally bought Great Lakes' Roaring Dan's Maple Rum. Will use it in a glaze for apple cake, and then it's hot buttered rum time. :)

Help!

Buffalo Trace is releasing/just released their George T Stagg. You MUST try this if you can. This bourbon is proof of the existence of God.

The problem is that they don't ship much of it to hockey country and what little they do is to major metropolitan areas. If anyone sees it in CCHA land please let me know where... I'm willing to travel for this stuff. Likewise, if your local store (or you) are willing to ship, let me know, we'll find a way to make it work.

I'm not even joking. Call up or visit your favorite liquor store and ask them what it would take to have them order a case and try to get some other people who are willing to chip in. They're probably willing to do that. Or even ask about a single bottle, who knows.

Guinness has apparently decided that Americans are now worthy of their Foreign Export Stout, as I just had one last night and previously you had to leave the country to get it. It tastes like the Original Extra Stout, but smoother and with a higher ABV. Brilliant! ;)

Is this available at the packie or just at bars?
