So I picked up a couple of single malts today. The headliner is the Glenfiddich 15-yr. Definitely excited to crack that one open.

Buffalo Trace here, and my buddy is sticking to his standard Mich Golden Light. He's not a beer snob. ;)

Schell's Pils, Sierra Nevada Stout and Sam Smiths sampler for the weekend.

Knowing Fade, it was "better than average pretty good."

Brother sent me a message: Glenlivet 12. Not bad.

Yep, that's my blood kin right there. :D

How can a scotch that gets some of the best ratings out there among 15s be classified as "above average"?

Sam Adams gets rave reviews, and I don't like it at all. Personal taste. ;)

It was "pretty friggin good". Though I did like Macallan 12 a bit more. Again, probably personal taste.

And Sam Adams only gets rave reviews from college kids and/or people who usually drink Busch Light. It's decent, not great (the Boston Lager, that is).

I think I might pick up the Macalln then tomorrow. I saw it and thought about looking it up on my Wisk(e)y Master Spreadsheet on my phone. Just went with the two I had. No need to spend that much on scotch in one trip.

Non-contiguous night here. Kona's Longboard ale and Alaskan Amber.

Oh, I did stop by Sid's on Hwy 55/169. Evan Single Barrel for $18. Yes, that's for a fifth. A buddy (the Mich Golden Guy) and I are having an old-school bender weekend. Had to stock up.

Our halloween group is already planning on staying over at a buddy's house since we're all going to get wrecked at Moose Country tomorrow. $3 miller lites and insanely cheap mixed drinks is going to do me in.

Finally cold enough something heavy. I'm trying the Left Hand Milk Stout for the first time. It's pretty good.

Macallin 12 is a must get. Thanks to Neil Peart, that is the only single malt that my husband ever drinks. Worth every penny according to him.

I've tried many Sams, and the only one I found mildly interesting is the winter brew. Just not impressed with them at all.

I've been on kind of a Grain Belt Premium kick lately. Along with Schell's Oktoberfest (a MUST every fall), and Warsteiner.

****. I need to get to a liquor store tonight.

Lake Placid Pub & Brewery last night after the games at the 1980 Rink. My favorite of their six was Ubu Ale, a delicious red.
