Had my employees over at the house today to celebrate our largest quarterly earned contract in company history to grill up some ribeyes and fortunately enjoy the weather.

Left over in the fridge for me to enjoy the rest of the evening:

Lake Superior Oatmeal Stout
New Belgium Trippel
Black Butte Porter
Surly Cynic

Haskell's in Plymouth has a fifth of Stoli for $15.50. Yes, you read that right.

Good way to start off the weekend.

I have to ask...Why? Both are good separated, but together?

Delicious.

It is a favorite drink at The Local in Minneapolis. It is the main reason why The Local is the biggest US seller of Jameson yearly. I don't think they use Vernor's, but some other ginger ale. I just picked up a 12-pack of Diet Vernor's in Albert Lea when I was there, since we don't have it in Milwaukee anywhere.

If you go to Franksville (not that far south of Milwaukee), they have Verner's in the grocery store there. I think Woodman's in Oak Creek has it too. Do I have to drive to Milwaukee to give you a 12-pack of Verner's? I am probably going there tomorrow to watch the Ads at the BC.

You know whats even better? Jameson without the mix. :D

No, I've still got plenty left, but thanks. I drank all my other stuff first and saved the Vernor's for last. The new Woodman's opens this weekend in Menomonee Falls and we may go check that out before I run out. Thanks for the heads up! I drank that stuff all the time when I was in Kalamazoo.

Oh, I agree 100%. I filled my flask with it before Wisconsin Highland Games and the band's midsection (tenors and bass) shared a post-competition nip. We also had some other whiskeys floating around--Usher's and a smoky-peaty one that I can't remember the name of--all were decent, but Jemmy was best of all.

But I like a Big Ginger once in awhile. :) I also keep Jemmy around for wintertime when I'm frequently sick, to make whiskey toddies. This on the advice of an old Irish man from Toronto who told me never to drink Bushmills because they didn't hire Catholics to work there. (Not sure if that's true or propaganda, but I don't like Bushmills anyhow.)

If you can find it, try Reed's Ginger Brew or Stewart's Ginger Beer; you might like them a little better than Vernor's.

Rang in the season with some Kangas Kool-Aid, now sipping on Evan/Coke.

Yeah... I'm none too happy right now. Half of it is stupid gopher fans expecting a trophy every year already b*tching about how we didn't win by 10. Seriously.

The other half is the beer issue. I have nothing cold right now.
