I've brought plenty of bottles home in soft-sided luggage. 5 bottles of scotch from Scotland, 2 growlers from Anchorage, etc. Have never had problems in my luggage. I don't know what you mean by ski bag, if it is for just the skis, yeah makes sense.Checked bag is my ski bag, which is not hard-sided.
