Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

Board go boom. No thread for you!

I had many 7&7's on Saturday. And wine. Mucho wine.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

I have to get the names of the six beers I finished this weekend that were good(luckily I still have the bottles at my house). Two IPAs, one lager, a stout, a double boch, and a hard cider all delicious.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

Had two beers this weekend. One was 312 Urban Wheat Ale, conveniently handed to me at the finish of the Chicago marathon, and the other was Arrogant Ba$tard from Goose Island or some other Illinois brewery. The AB tasted great; the 312, not so much.

And when I arrived Friday night, one of my friends poured a shot of Goldschlager for me. Tastes like licorice.

AB is a beer from Stone Brewery in CA. I happen to like Goose Island 312, it's one of my top wheat beers in America.

InBev bought Goose Island recently, and replaced their brewmaster. I don't expect GI's quality to continue. :(

Was told about some John Henry beer, aged in bourbon casks. It being from Cold Spring Brewery kind of scares me though.

Well, after a visit to Madison, I must say I was disappointed in the beer... Tried several offerings from New Glarus and for as much as people give them props, I was let down.... Spotted Cow didn't do anything for me... It seemed bland and rather uneventful... Same thing from Totally Naked (**runs from lynch mob**) The Fat Squirrel was pretty good however... Enjoyed several throughout the weekend....

Meh, it's not for everyone. And more for me. ;)

Speaking of New Glarus, we might just be serving that at our wedding next summer, along with a KBC selection (I'm leaning toward the 36 Schilling/Olde Ore Dock, personally. Widowmaker running a close 2nd.)

So, whose arse do I have to kiss to get invited?

(just messing with ya)

I think we forgot to mention, or I missed where Brent posted it...Good News! Our bartender at TK's isn't moving this month like she originally planned!

January. Then she's gone. :( But the other bottle-blonde may have an in. Our bartender said (in addition to holiday travel) that she couldn't leave yet due to her friend. So, unless MNS ups it with Jess (.........yeah :p), we still are okay.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if she ended up staying. When she told me about it originally it didn't seem like it was very well thought out or very definite. Who knows.

If she stayed that would be awesome. Not just saying that because we get free stuff. She is a fun bartender.

I don't know why she has started throwing ice at me, other than that she is entertaining...and nice to look at...especially when she's all bouncy and dancing.

Bouncy is always good. But really, she is good at her job, and even though glad-handling the customers IS her job, she has paid special attention to us (in the manner of chatting away, "hanging out" sort of thing).

Spotted Cow isn't much different than Miller Lite, IMHO.

Ice Hole mint shots..taste like a liquid breath mint.

Don't expect me to be some sort of expert on alcohol, I'm more or less here for the ideas of what to try.:p it's just my opinion, fine sir.:D

Well, first off, Spotted tastes nothing like Miller Lite. Nothing.

And then you try a drink that is probably in Dude Love's repertoire for seducing Junior High Schoolers? I mean, it's not rocket science. We're not debating about stouts vs Russian Imperial Ales....this is common sense, man!

Christ, it's like explaining to Biddco why a White Russian is something that you never order at a bar, even if you may drink it at home.
