Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

Well, first off, Spotted tastes nothing like Miller Lite. Nothing.

And then you try a drink that is probably in Dude Love's repertoire for seducing Junior High Schoolers? I mean, it's not rocket science. We're not debating about stouts vs Russian Imperial Ales....this is common sense, man!

Christ, it's like explaining to Biddco why a White Russian is something that you never order at a bar, even if you may drink it at home.

Maybe the Spotted I had was bad, but it really tasted like Miller lite.:p

I'll continue to try and learn here, though Brent..although I won't try messing around with everclear and fire..;)

To be fair, that was the first accident that I had in my lifetime, hence why I did it in the first place. :) I'm a gambler. Knowing the risks, and the reward, I proceeded. Guess we always lose once.

I'm just glad you made it out with minor burns..could've been much more serious..God just gave you a 'friendly' reminder of what minor risks (stupidity) can result in.;)

I don't care if people think it is a girls drink, I order White Russians quite often. Pretty much the only one I do though.

I'm wondering the same thing.

No joke. At Flaherety's in Arden Hills that's all I drink when I'm bowling. They make killer white russians. They don't just dump a bunch of booze in them and serve. They do them properly and if they screw up, I've actually seen them get a new glass and start over.

At home, however, I prefer blind russians. Vodka, Kahlua, and Bailey's.

I miss that place.
We used to walk over for lunch on occasion and it was a nice go to place for after work gatherings every once in awhile.

I have to get the names of the six beers I finished this weekend that were good(luckily I still have the bottles at my house). Two IPAs, one lager, a stout, a double boch, and a hard cider all delicious.

Ok so I screwed up one of the IPAs was a red ale but with a name like Hoppus Maximus(Thirsty Dog Brewing) you would think it was an IPA as well. The IPA was Lattitude 48 from Sam Adams. The stout was Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout from North Coast Brewing. He'brew Mesiah Bold from Schmaltz Brewing. The double bock was Salvator from Paulaner. The hard cider was Crispin Brut brewed by Crispin Cider Company. I can't forget to mention Ayinger's Celebrator, which is a dopplebock still good after having it in a fridge for 2.5-3 years.

Why the hell don't you order a white russian at a bar?
Brent has some stupid vendetta against white russians. Personally, I don't even think its a girly drink, and I have no problem ordering them. I usually order whiskey, but if I'm in the mood for a white russian, I'd have no problem getting one.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

I love Caucasians. They are an awesome drink. But I won't order one in a bar, because, well, I'm straight. ;) (Seriously, that is a stereotype thing; no, I don't know why). When I'm at a bar, it's going to be a clear or brown liquor, and 99% of the time it's a 2-ingredient drink if I order a mixed drink.

I have never heard of that stereotype.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

I'm guessing it's less obvious than ordering a Seabreeze or similar.

I mean, I can't explain the Subaru/lesbian stereotype either, but it's there.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

I am with dx here. This white russian stereotype isn't nearly as common as you are making it sound. You are one of three people I have ever heard mention it.
