LindrosV2 back on IR.

crosby never played with his head down, and has his ring.

But yeah, he's going the Lindross route now sadly. I hate seeing good players go down. Cherry had a good point regarding this issue. Without the clutching, the game is quicker. Maybe it only *seems* like players are getting concussions more due to a prevalence of concussions on stars, but I'd say the quicker style might also be a contributing factor as well.

When you say "quicker style" please don't tell me you believe in the red-line horsesh*t too.

It frustrates me to hear talking heads (including Don Cherry) whine about needing the re-introduction of the redline. Crosby got plowed over in the Winter Classic while in the faceoff circle in the offensive end. Then the next game he was hit by Hedman in the endboards. After coming back, the "Krejci elbow" took place against the boards near the blue line.

Pronger's concussion? From Hanzal against the end-boards.

Skinner's concussion? From Sutton 30 feet inside the Oilers Defensive end. Ironically, the same thing would have happened had the red line been in place.

It's just fine to send players out there with shoulder pads so tough and big that make the NFL guys look naked. But good God put that red-line back in because THAT's what's the cause of the problems.

Softer equipment. NOW. Something that absorbs the hit, not transfers it.

Well said.

Why does the NHL have so many more problems with concussions than say the NFL? Head. Gear. Time to step up and require it; hockey culture simply won't allow it otherwise. Lot of these hits wouldn't have created a problem if the player was simply wearing good head gear and properly adjusting it.

Quite the finish in Florida. Saw some great highlights on the game.

So this Philly-Dallas game is interesting. Could get ugly. I think we may have reached critical mass on truculence.

These Islanders' 3rd unis look like some cheesy beer league outfit.

But then, the Leafs penalty killing is as good as some cheesy beer league outfit.

I hope the Ducks continue to suck balls this season, because they freaking own the Sharks.

Jonas Hiller = Shark Killer

The Ducks' special brand of assbaggery seems to get under SJ's skin more often than not. I can remember back in '09, when it was Sharks/Ducks in the first round of the playoffs, and you basically threw in the towel before the puck even dropped on the series.

Cam Ward got himself an empty net goal tonight.

I got excited when I heard about this thinking he actually was the direct result of it going in. That seems to be a completely lost art nowadays. I know it was extremely rare before but you would see a goaltender shooting the puck down the length of the ice for a goal every once in a great while. Now it seemingly never happens.

Thank you trapezoid for making goalies less likely to play the puck.

Adam McQuaid just absolutely destroyed Raffi Torres in a fight.
