Leafs in Winnipeg for the first time in 16 years. Hockey Night in Canada in HD on New Year's Eve -- doesn't get any better! :D

Avs at Kings tonight - my first look at LA wearing the old purple and gold unis and Quick wearing his Rogie Vachon tribute mask. Old school! :)

I love the old purple'n'gold. Have a Melanson gold body/purple shoulders Kings jersey.

Since there is nothing else on TV and I'm all caught up on stuff I've recorded, I'm watching Detroit at Dallas on the NEW NBC SPORTS NETWORK. It's kinda dull. Are crowds in the Big D always this quiet or is it just how the crowd is or isn't mic'd?

Attendance in Dallas is way down, especially with fan favorites like Modano and Turco no longer on the team. They haven't made the playoffs since 07-08.

And by way down we are talking 2nd only to the mighty Coyotes, averaging 12,743 enthused spectators a game (11,423 for Phoenix).

They're back up to 12,000 already? Not bad. They were at about 8,000 when the team was finally sold earlier this year.

Dallas gets a pass from me for this season. While they were sitting in Tom Hicks' bankruptcy, they had zero ticket specials and zero marketing.

What would possess someone to bring that into the arena in the first place.?

How did they manage to get that past security?

So it leaked just what was so "insensitive" to Subban that earned Krys Barch a one game suspension.

"You slip on a banana peel during that fight earlier?"

I didn't know Mario Kart jokes were offensive? :confused: I hope no one ever says they "Blue Shelled" an opponent during a fight.

I saw that on Twitter and laughed. If people actually get offended by stuff like that they really need to loosen up a little bit. I am, what one might call, a connoisseur of racist jokes, and from my experience, this falls on the OK side of the line. :p ;)
