Why couldn't this work?

No conferences, seeds 1-5 are the division winners, 6-16 follow based on points.
How many games vs each team / how balanced is the schedule?

Play six in the division (30) and 2 vs each other division (48) so we get a 78 game regular season and perfectly balanced schedules.

So, the Yotes, who play six each against SJS, LA, Vancouver, and the Ducks, and the Canes who play six against, ummmm, the Bolts are both fighting for the same playoff spots (6-16). Yup, definitely balanced.

Because every team that is good will always be good and every team that is bad will always be bad.

Considering that the winner of the division gets home ice and a top 5 seed, they should play more against their own division.

Anything that involves the current Atlantic and Northeast divisions having to take longer road trips will probably get voted down, since they need 1 of 20 other teams to block a realignment with them.

BizNasty scores his first of the season tonight. His mom is at the game watching him play in the NHL for the first time. Can't wait to see him RT the chirps on twitter later tonight, should be comedy gold.

My adjustments:

Carolina, Washington, Dallas, Florida, Nashville, Tampa Bay

Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Boston, Buffalo, NYI

Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Philly, NJ, NYR

There really is no perfect solution.

Stuck watching the Pens' broadcast for the second coming. Steigerwalt and Errey had a tingle running up their legs.

done it before... (i'd still use norris, adams, smythe, patrick, and..... hmm. campbell?

top points in regular season gets the prince of wales trophy?

we regain our history (long live the original 12!! :D)

Yes it's the Isles, but sounds like Sid is back to being his old self. 3 pts halfway through the game or so? Unreal.

i'll never forget mario's comeback vs toronto. cbc had a special channel that followed him all night. dedicated camera..on ice, on bench. awesome night.

The Islanders did a great Homecoming opponent impression tonight in Pitt. Sheesh.

If you get the Islanders coming back from injury, you don't have to bother with the one or two AHL rehab games.

Lol, what losers. Typical "California hockey fans."

What's the over/under on how long it takes for Cindy Crosby to hurt himself while diving? I hope he stays healthy long enough for Lucic to eat him alive.

This would not hurt quite so much if it weren't true.

In other news, class is as class does for everybody's two least favorite fan bases (sorry Rags, you're just below the cut).
