The Wild ride their goalie to another win. Whew.
The Wild ride their goalie to another win. Whew.
If they finish close to .500 it would be considered huge success compared to the other teams that are in this town.
Yeah, we did.Didn't we predict the Wild to finish 6th in the conference, or so? Just bad enough to miss home ice?
They played pretty poor tonight though, and Columbus played pretty well. Lucky to escape with a win.
Yeah, we did.
I saw that the young Wild defensemen that I worried about ended up not being much of a problem, since they posted a shutout. Though, I'm guessing that it had much more to do with Backstrom than with the defense.
Colorado has two regulation wins in their last 47 games vs. Western Conference opposition.

I'm trying to think of a logical realignment for the NHL and I'm convinced that you cannot possibly do it without at least one or two glaring gaffes.
Add two expansion teams in the west, and we MIGHT be able to settle this into four logical divisions of eight, but even that sucks.
2 U'sCant score 5 goals every game. Rask played really well. 2 points is two points. I'll take it.
If they could get Phoenix sold and kept in town for a dozen years, they could probably just shove all 16 ETZ teams into the east and have uneven conferences. They move to Quebec City, though, and you're at 17 and it's a no go.
17 EST teams. Detroit and Columbus both have rightful claims to being in the eastern conference.
To say nothing of the argument you could make for Nashville to take Atlanta's place in the SE.
Why couldn't this work?

No conferences, seeds 1-5 are the division winners, 6-16 follow based on points.
I don't like splitting up Boston/Montreal. Sorry
