Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

I haven't been terribly bored since the halfway point when they finally started skating. That said, the really good scoring chances are pretty few, and non-existent five on five.

Nevermind. They are back to crap again.

Yeah, San Jose has gotten the better of the deal thus far.

Happy to see Boston put in a 60 minute effort tonight.

Well, if the Wings do blow this one, it's their own dammed fault.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

That didn't take long.

And for the record, the Wings announcing crew thought that was a penalty that set up the power play.

Well done, at least from about 1:15 left in the game until the end of OT.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

Oh, I thought so, too, but Larry Murphy immediately piped up and said that was a penalty, and Mickey Redmond put up exactly zero argument.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

Maybe Spurgeon's diminutive frame made the refs think such a thing would be impossible. :D

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

The contact with Spurgy was at most incidental - I don't think it was a bad call at all. In replay you might think there was a push but you could also argue the act was already in place.

btw - that winning goal seemed unpossible from the Wild (Koivu with the *****slap). :)

So, in the course of three games, Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley, and Devin Setoguchi have game winning goals against Detroit.
