We're pleased that we can export our dark <strike>red wing</strike> jedi killing ways though, especially after they were chopping our legs off last year.

I wouldn't mind that. If Detroit stays in the West, I love it. Tired of the week-long grinds in West Canada, and I really want Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis coming to town more often.

So umm forgive me if this has been talked about, but:

Don't like it. Would much prefer the six division format.
I'd rather have four divisions for a variety of reasons (easier to have balanced schedules, rivalries don't feel as forced as they do when you have more/smaller divisions, it's harder to get the divisions that people want, etc.). But the Eastern conference does create some interesting conundrums. There are really only four teams that make perfect sense in the "southern" division, and it's really hard to think of a logical way to split up the current Atlantic division. How else would you do it?

Put Winnipeg in the Central and Nashville in the Southeast.

Put Nashville in the Southeast, Columbus in the Northeast, then put Winnipeg in the Northwest. Minnesota and Toronto to the Central to bring back the Norris. :)

Honestly, no matter how realignment goes down, at least 1-2 teams are going to end up POed with the final decision.

I'm just happy that no matter how this shakes out, it seems like the Hawks will be getting Home and Homes with the other Original Six teams each year... That has been needed for some time....

The Rinne deal is ridiculous. No issues with his play, but is any goaltender worth 7M a year? Nobody was making that kind of coin until Rinne got this deal. It's absurd, and the term is equally absurd. Can't see how they do this AND manage to keep both Weber and Suter.

Josh Harding would be worth 10M a year if you played Detroit 41 times a season.

I'm at Nationwide Arena watching the Leafs and Blue Jackets and see this tweet from Buccigross:

@Buccigross: The canon in Columbus provides a painful metaphor for Columbus suits. Sad. #firingsquad

Really is a sad situation here. Half empty building and almost as many Leafs fans in the house.

I think we're just in that slump that hits every team throughout the season...hopefully we are just in ours early.

I am really tired of watching us control the puck, outshoot and outplay every team and then lose. Time to score some goals, boys.
