Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Leading goalie in the country finishes honorable mention in the ccha voting. scalp the spartans again 1

I was expecting Hunwick on the first team, Knapp on second...oh well.

Can't argue with anyone from Ferris I guess.

The tribes go forth to war,
Their scalp songs ring afar;
Bright the blood-red camp fires gleaming,
Mad with thrist the war-hawks screaming,
Signal smoke soars high,
Beckons in the sky,
Old men shake their calabashes,
Warriors dance amid the ashes,
Maides sobbing, war-drums throbbing, WAR!

Sweet the vict'ry and the conquest,
Calm the rest among the slain;
Sons of centuries of heroes,
Seek the fruit, despise the pain.
Watch Miami, now,
See the SPARTANS bow,
Far and wide their host is scattered,
Spears are broken, shields are battered;
Miami! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh!
Miami! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh!
Race them, chase them, pound them, Wow!

I am biased, but I didn't see anyone in the CCHA the entire year that was as good as Conner. Bar none. He's #1 in GAA, #2 in save percentage, trails only Hunwick in shutouts (5-4 and in 15 fewer games). if i recall correctly, he's had 1 game in the second half in which he has allowed more than one goal - ironicallistically, against UM. That being said, he's been by far the best goalie throughout the year.

We are blessed to have the C&C show in net for the next few weeks.

Love & Honor!

I suspect a couple of things that may have been held against Connor is that 1) he played less games/wasn't the #1 guy all year for his team and 2) the perception that he head a better team around him.

I'll tell ya where we'll go. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called, Mac and Joes.

Lets go boys!

Up to #5 in the PWR currently, holy crap. 2 more wins could possibly get us a #1 seed.

Let's just get 3 wins until the selection show.

This really is hard to believe (obviously not complaining). With Michigan and Ferris ahead of us, I would have to imagine that 3 wins will get us there. All of those TUC wins continue to pile up.

Good find.

Curious though. They mention a couple of times that he's "not that big." Being 6'-0"-194 at 18 is still pretty solid, even for an 18 year-old. He's not Vaive, but he sure as shootin' ain't Hobey Miele either.

Agreed. I guess the bar for defenseman continues to push upward with so many 6'3" and bigger guys.

Knapp is 11-3 in the second half with bacteria-sized numbers. Oh, and fixed your post...

Quiet on the board tonight after a win like that, surprising

Sign of a fanbase that gets it. Still have to win another. Tonight's done...good win...but a loss tomorrow negates any good that came from tonight. #justsayin
