Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

Re: Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

...Look, I want him gone and back in Chicago "community organizing" with the Blackstone Rangers as much as anybody...

I'd prefer the president sign and date every @#$%#@ letter. Maybe it would serve as a daily reminder to evaluate why he or she has led our country into a particular war.

And.... I've seen nothing to indicate that Romney is the lesser evil this go round.

Re: Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

Not really. All the support for abortion relies on carving out exceptions to a straightforward law against murdering other people, so that it becomes legal based on the age of the victim and other things. So more regulation, special exemptions, imposed morality over common sense = big-government abortion proponents. The biggest problem I have with the Democrat Party is their complete lack of willingness to accept behavioral norms for the whole society. Just because someone "feels like" killing another person doesn't make it OK to do so (legally, it does, but not in the big picture).

Isn't this kind of basic? If you're not free simply to stay alive, what rights to you have at all?

Another thing that gets me is all these people saying, "If the mother was raped, we have to take our bloody revenge on the smallest kid in the room!" It's sick.
with all due respect geezer, but what I hear you saying is that you want govt to interfere and force something to happen now that is not happening, and that is not somehow more govt regulation.? I think it is disingenuous to contend that you want less govt but you only want that part of the time.

Second, I doubt anyone democrat or otherwise would disagree with you for a festus in the third trimester, but to say that a zygote is a person is quite a stretch if you ask me, and we kill cells all the time elsewhere don't we. ?
I don't expect to change anyone's mind, but I think it's important for one religion to recognize and respect the beliefs of other religions, because certainly no one knows if what you contend is true or not.

I know, you're right. I'm sorry if I offended. (I've got to learn to keep my views to myself, it has gotten me in trouble more than once.)

Yeah but its not as sick as telling a rape victim that she has no choice but to carry the rapists child.

Subjective. But an improvement.
In my opinion, subjective is the best thing about it.
I'd still much rather have the SUV. I probably couldn't even fit into one of those sub-compacts.
The most legroom I have ever had while driving a car was in a Geo Metro. And if you are referring to being wide rather than tall, I promise you aren't bigger than me, and I fit in sub-compacts just fine. :) (Mind you, I'm not trying to suggest you shouldn't buy the car you want, but "I don't like them" is a much better argument than "I'm too big to fit in them.")
Meh. Alaska until about 1992 had a prominent party dedicated to breaking away and forming its own COUNTRY.
It is my understanding that part of how Sarah Palin got elected governor was by appealing to that party. (A small part, but part.)

The people who write political ads should take lessons from you. This is an excellent job of taking an opinion (a totally legit one, mind you), turning it into a fact, then stating in such colorful, extreme language that to disagree seems totally outrageous. (For the record, I am not even being sarcastic. You have the gift.)

Listen, I don't care (very much) that you occasionally disagree with me (occasionally??!!) but I'm going to draw the line in these "golden oldies" "best of Duper" posts. I can't speak for anyone else you've crammed in here, but as for me I object, I object, I object. :p

I'm honestly confused here. What the hell are you talking about?

What's the point of trying to have a little fun with a prig? I was referring to your post earlier (#485) which quoted several different posts, by several different people. *sighs* Serves me right.

Now I'm really confused. I apparently committed a faux pas by quoting multiple posts. And by not recognizing that quoting multiple posts would be a source of irritation, I am a prig? sigh, indeed. :)

Well, I grew up with 5 sisters. The only way I could fight them was to drive them batty with stupid sarcastic arguments.

I wouldn't put it that way at all. But I do have a knack for making them angry, which is even less useful than you would think.

When (if) you got married, did you take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience?

Re: Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

We had that in DC during the cocaine wars. Eventually all the bad guys were dead or out of the game.

That could be part of the thinking here. But there are thousands more gang members than drug dealers. And these punks frequently miss and hit innocents. Try to imagine His Panderness' reaction (and Holder's, too) if gangs of white kids were doing drive-bys on black kids. Somewhat different, don't you suppose?

I don't know... there were vows involved, but these ones here sound suspiciously Catholic. Aren't these what you'd take at a nunnery? Or a monkery? We did have some stuff about sickness and health, etc.

Poverty -- all the money is hers
Obedience -- yes, dear
Chastity -- "headache"
