So you know more about business and taxes than Warren Buffett? Interesting. Are you Bill Gates or Carlos Slim?

FWIW, Bill Gates is pro-"Buffett Rule". However, by increasing taxes on long-term investments in the stock market by up to 25% total (a ~ 160% increase), I would not be surprised to see a sharp decline, and many people pulling their money out because they wouldn't want to be invested due to taxes.

Tell us something we didn't already know.

Yes, shocking a Bush administration hack came up with his own study that mysteriously showed a deficit. Never could have seen that coming.

In other news, former admin officials also insist that we still might be greeted as liberators in Iraq if we give it time....

Apparently some don't know and actually believe the cluster F will actually do what they say it will, which is a hoot BTW

Either you haven't seen much, or you are crazy.
or as I said before, local affiliates control the news while the network feed provides the commentary. If so, then there will be significant regional differences, making any generalizations suspect.

Perhaps you think Fox and Friends is news just like Good Morning America or Today are "news"?

You realize that Fox "News" broadcasts on its own network (FNC) 24/7 right? The local affiliates have nothing to do with the content on the national network, they are just owned by the same company. I realize you'll never watch the full video of Jon Stewart talking about the lies on Fox "News" so here's a screenshot that shows just a few of them.

Stewart's a reliable source. Not.

From what I've seen of Fox, they do a better job than most other networks in separating news from commentary. However, I see the local affiliate more often than the network, and my observations may be different from others if each local affiliate has wide latitude in this area. The old broadcast networks intersperse commentary and news, you even get editorial comments in the middle of a story. Fox commentators can be a strident bunch sometimes, the actual news is pretty much factual reporting. I also notice that if a right-wing person has done something wrong, Fox goes after that story nearly as hard as if a left-wing person had done it. I wish I could find an example that was pretty evident a few months back, it slips my mind at the moment.

I think what happens is people see the commentary on a network called Fox News and think that the commentary is the news, while the local news from Fox affiliates seems pretty straight while the affiliates then air the network-provided commentary.

Fox has several problems.

- Content as is easy seen on their website is not general news but invariably criticisms of Democrats/liberals with some support of Republicans/conservatives.
- TV programming emphasizes commentary of the type you refer...Greta, Hannity, OReilly
- Guests are heavily weighted to those with criticisms of Democrats/liberals
- Fox moderators typically agree with guests with criticisms of Democrats/liberals and overtly challenging to those who support Dems to the point of not letting them talk

All this in contrast with standard Sunday morning political shows...where each side is represented, moderators give minimal personal opinion and tough questions are asked of all.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about local yokel "News at 7" on Fox affiliates, with the obligatory story about the high school badmitten team, the fire at the consignment store on Maple Street, and the weather girl with the big tits who thinks "cumulo-nimbus" is an Italian shoe label? They have nothing to do with the 24-hour cable network FNC.

I'm honestly confused by what you mean.

Why didn't any of these calamaties happen during the 90's? See, what you have is speculation and what I have is historical data. The 90's taxes got raised, the budget got balanced and investment in the US skyrocketed. In the 2000's taxes got cut, the deficit skyrocketed and investment went overseas.

As much of a hoot as what's going to happen to Romney on election night?

Not entirely true. The network will syndicate the FNC broadcast on Sunday mornings.

You also had this little thing called the dot com boom to help (coinciding with the dot com bust in 2001), but it was too convenient to bring up. What new gotta-get-in technology do you suppose will complement your tax increases?

You're confusing Rover's tidy little narrative that gives him comfort.

What tax increases? The tax cuts were supposed to be temporary and expire. That's not a tax increase.

When a store normally sells an item for $99.99 and has a sale where you can buy the item for $79.99, when the sale is over and the price reverts back to $99.99 do you accuse the store of raising prices?

Ahhh...I always like it when knucks' try to cling to this to explain why the Clinton economy was the strongest since the early 60's. Allow me to crush your argument with this thought. In Clinton's term, 22M net new jobs were created. IF those were largely because of the "internet bubble" and the internet bubble burst, shouldn't 22M jobs have gone away, or at least most of them? Funny, why don't the stats bear that out? (stepping away while several righties heads explode)

And they extended the "sale". Doesn't sound like much of a sale to me, but more like a price change.
