I really don't understand how folks on the right feel that there is a national advantage to swearing to the Constitution long enough to want to blow it up, while simultaniously attacking science. On the other hand, I also don't understand how many on the left don't understand what Jesus was all about...while laying much of the blame for today's hatred at the foot of He who virtually invented compassion. But discussion is not a sprint, its a marathon.
In the end, if I can continue to help move sentiment on the board away from militarism and towards America's #1 weapon to drive innovation into the 21st century, education, it will probably be worth it.

Yeah, but a quick "I'm sorry" at the end and you're in the VIP lounge. That's pretty cool.
If we could take pieces of the various beliefs and build a religion (minus the Scientologists and their space ships under the earth stuff) so we get miracles, compassion, eternal kingdom of light, a few dozen virgins thrown in to spend eternity with, an occasional animal made out of gold, eternal wisdom, 12 days of holiday gifts, all the wine you can drink, less guilt, no pedophiles etc. then I think we could get a lot of people behind it. We'd crush the other religions. Especially if we didn't ask people to go door to door or fill out an evelope every weekend.
That religion would rock.

Ha Ha. I just flashed on the scene in "Bedazzled" where Peter Cook as the devil, is whining about the souls he's lost over the eons. He complains bitterly about Mussolini, right at the end, saying "scusi" and up he goes.

So when are we declaring "victory" and coming home from Afghanistan? President Obama.
I wonder if we couldn't kill more enemies by leaving the country and re-invading it after they (Taliban) become stationary targets.

Congratulations to Deadmeat. "The smartest guy in the room" gets slapped, hard. He thought he could bully Boehner and diminish the audience for the Republican debate. He was wrong. This is an unforced error, and there's a limit on how many of those he can afford.

Or he could have picked that original date because that is the first day that both Houses are back in session. Which would seeem like a logical choice if you are trying to set the tone for what the next sessions should focus on.
