I don't like the woman and wouldn't vote for her but if she said she could eat a horse I wouldn't call PETA...I'd like to think any rational person could read that quote and understand she wasn't literally saying the hurricane was a message from God and also understand that she wasn't joking about people dying.

If I were her spokesperson I wouldnt have used the word joking, that is certain. But, I would point out she was being facetious when she said the natural events were a 'message' to politicians.

That analysis is pretty much dead on. I worry about some of our colleagues, whose obsession with Bachmann drives them to post every day, snarking, smirking and smugging. What happens to them when she inevitably has to drop out of the race for the GOP nomination. Perhaps we could all chip in for rehab at Hazelden.

I'll agree with the latter, not so much the former. Considering this woman says she was told to go get an LLM in tax law by God (through her husband)...it's hardly a stretch to believe she thinks the natural disasters are likewise signs from God. Seems like a fairly consistent philosophy.

But apparently she now thinks God is a joke. Which is an amusing change of pace.

Make me believe that you actually dispute the notion that a good deal of the enmity for Palin, Bachmann and now Perry, is based on their religious beliefs. The ladies of the libtard chorale are on here mocking those beliefs all day, every day. Ask Bill Keller of the NYT. People who will lecture others about tolerance at the dop of a hat, are perfectly willing to crack wise about conservative Christian beliefs. And you know it. It isn't "irony",it's the truth.

Make me believe that their religious beliefs are immune from being mocked. And tolerance does not mean just nod your head and go along with.

Making up a quote attributed to me. Accusing me of changing previous posts. I've spent a career worrying about accurate attribution. As I said before, it's unethical to put words into someone else's mouth, even in jest. It's a lie. Please don't bore us with a defense. I didn't accuse you of changing posts, even though a great deal of yours do have the edited notice in them. I accused you of changing your stance when the subject of evolution was brought up the other day. Unfortunately due to the lack of an archive, I can't bring up the relevant posts that would show this. But neither can you to prove me a liar on it so it amounts to nothing.

So I'll repeat, how am I a liar, and why is the religion of these candidates immune from being mocked for their ridiculousness? Please answer or just go off into some nonsensical rant.
