Obama 7 - now what?

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

No, only a flag with 50 stars and 13 stripes? But I am curious, are you still on the sex offender registry?

Nice try to divert from the original question by accusing me of something completely false; however, the reality is you are using the symbol of the NAZI SS as your avatar. So just answer the question: why do you use the cap insignia of the NAZI SS as your avatar?

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

Obama is a squishy liberal, although it's tempered with the sort of pragmatism that liberals know will abandon them when that's the path of least resistance. He's liberal the way, say, Bob Dole was conservative. He's not governing by ideology, or we'd be out of Iraq and Gitmo would be shuttered.

Pelosi is a solid liberal, but again, far left? "Far left" are the genuine socialists -- the folks who think Obama is a corporate puppet.

I'd prefer neither the far left nor far right have much of a voice. To my mind, the tragedy of the last 20 years wasn't that lefty lunatics didn't get any love, but that righty lunatics not only got love but an entire party apparatus to play with (and, as it turned out, run into the ground).

When Dennis Kucinich gets as much power as Newt Gingrich once had, I'll agree there's equivalence.

Obama is only pragmatic in the sense that he wants something to pass so that the goalposts shift... not because he's trying to be a common sense american.

Wingnut Myth of the Week
I want to laugh, I really really do, but then I realize that people actually believe that stuff.

"Just thought you should know what the new residents in the WH plan for the future of America," concludes the email hoax. "If you missed his statement that 'we do not consider ourselves a Christian Nation' this should confirm that he plans to take us away from our religious foundation as quickly as possible."

The goalposts shifted when Obama was voted in and the Dems got a filibuster-proof Senate...the only reason they haven't passed anything is cause the Dems are too busy fighting amongst themselves.

And Obama isn't far left, he's mainstream left. The far left is made up of the Ralph Nader's of the world.

Nader and the Greens are far left, and they're not even the radical left (Chomsky, actual Euro-style socialists) which is even further out there. Obama's textbook center-left. He seems far left to people who think Tom Coburn's a moderate, but to them there's no such thing as center-left, because everybody who doesn't worship the free market is a commie.

There's a guy at my work (very senior staff) who believes in death panels and parrots Mark Levin. There are people in this world so stupid you wonder how they get to work each morning.

Would love to have a reality show in which that guy is locked up for 24 hours with one of the idiots that thought they won't have to work now that Obama is president. :)

I didn't think we worked together ... ;)

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

I'm not much of a fan of Fox News, but this is going WAY too far.

White House Urges Other Networks to Disregard Fox News

So the White House wants the other networks to be their mouthpiece and declare Fox a Republican mouthpiece. It's like saying "we hate what the other side is doing so much we want our side to do it too." Ridiculous.

In all of these stories it might be useful to substitute "Nixon" for Obama and "Erlichman" for Axelrod and "Haldeman" for Emanuel. Just for giggles.

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

...and so grows the empire of Newscorp.

Beck is going to hammer on Anita Dunn tonight with more footage of her yapping away at a conference that they controlled the media during the campaign.

This is like the bestest present ever for Fox....and it will drive the other cable news outlets nuts.

Fair and balanced! We can't lose all this wonderful journalism!

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

Glad to see we have some good little lefties with their own stash of Fox News clips - just in case they have to make a point and all.

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

I enjoy the reflexive stupidity out of the righties here, but try to think for a minute.

Righties are about 100% engaged at this point in time. Lefties aren't. What might get lefties engaged, while at the same time having no effect on righty interest since they're already at their max?

I'll let you guys figure this one out....

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

Wait, Fox News *isn't* the Republican mouthpiece? ;)

I kid, I kid.

Bad move Obama. Now those idiots who actually believe everything the Fox News Channel says are going to feel even more vindicated.

No, I talk to these people all the time. They're such Permanent Victims that anything plays into their drama queen party. It's like saying you shouldn't dismiss Farrakhan because his supporters will feel vindicated.

The Dems have let the claim of false equivalency between Fox and the news networks go for way too long. Just treat them as what they are: the media arm of the GOP.
