Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Send white powder to a member of Congress....good call.

This was clearly done by a Republican, right Worthless?

I'm going to go ahead and not hold my breath while I wait for you to talk about the bullet that was fired through the window of Eric Cantor's campaign office in Richmond. But then again, what's really more dangerous, a bullet or white powder?

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

CBO: Debt will rise to 90% of GDP within 10 years.
(to head off the obvious unthinking comeback) Continued complaints about Bush being the root of all evil may be valid opinions; his unfunded spending went above and beyond responsible levels, as has become the norm.
But face it: the US has never experienced anything like what is going on with this new administration, and it's not at all clear the country will survive it. really. The damage is becoming incredible. We are the fiscal Haiti of the next decade.

By any definition, standard or test, we're already bankrupt. We've redefined "underwater".

It'll take nothing short of a miracle to reverse this trend - but it won't change until people stop living for *today* and start caring about the future of this country.

Give me total control for a month and I'll have us back to the Feds only being involved with issues circa 1800. Every social-spending item and entitlement is gone, including anything to do with education - it all belongs with the States where citizens can have local control.

Absolutely no reason why the individual states can't procure better and less expensive healthcare than the Feds. This business of nationalizing healthcare is completely ridiculous and there is no reasonable basis for what's happening.

In these instances...they're about the same. A stray bullet that barely broke a window and didn't even get past the blinds vs some harmless white powder...I'm going to go with....both were equally stupid and noneffective at killing people!

So... in a fight to the death, you'd go with a gun or a bag of flour with equal zest. Good to know.

If the person has wheat gluten allergies, that bag of flour might prove mighty useful!

Nothing. First you get triaged - if it's serious, then you get checked in and seen. Otherwise you head for the door.

They may not get hit with a bill, but you can be sure there are costs that the hospital has to recoup somehow.

Fortunately, white powder has never been used as a weapon to kill anyone.

State and federal governments. Medicare is the big problem with regards to driving up prices, considering they only pay $0.60 on the $1.00 for medical claims.

And how do state and federal governments get that money for the hospitals?

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

The sky not having fallen yet is not really a good reason to defend passage of this bill. Just sayin...

I'm not defending passage of the bill, just pointing out that someone was wrong in their Doomsday prediction. ;)

The people in this thread have already made up their mind on the <s>bill</s> law so it's pointless to keep debating.

Link to someone's prediction and let us decide just how wrong it was.
“The Democrats’ healthcare bill is the largest expansion of the federal government and the largest tax increase in our nation’s history,” Camp added. “It is a bill our families and our economy cannot afford. In fact, before the ink was even dry on this legislation, two Midwest manufacturers -- John Deere and Caterpillar -- announced that the Democrats’ healthcare was already costing them $150 million and $100 million, respectively. Those costs to employers and families are only going to grow in the coming days, weeks and years unless we repeal this bill and replace it with reforms that will lower costs.”
ATT says it will cost them $1B in added taxes. Velero Energy $15M-$20M, 3M $90M, AK Steel $31M,...

Since those costs are tied to retiree drug benefits, I suspect companies will eventually seek to eliminate those benefits and push retirees onto the public programs.

How much is AT&T in debt? I'm sure that the extra $1B in taxes will just kill them. Their stock price sure has taken a beating this week. Oh wait...it hasn't moved. Neither has Valero Energy's, or 3M.

Caterpillar's stock price is up 5% this week. AK Steel is up 6%.

Yep, the stock market is tanking.

That will certainly save me some money
