Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

How much is AT&T in debt? I'm sure that the extra $1B in taxes will just kill them. Their stock price sure has taken a beating this week. Oh wait...it hasn't moved. Neither has Valero Energy's, or 3M.

Caterpillar's stock price is up 5% this week. AK Steel is up 6%.

Yep, the stock market is tanking.

OMG! It's worse than I thought. Have you ever taken an economics class? AT&T isn't in debt, because they are a FOR PROFIT enterprise. I wonder if you or Obama have ever worked for a capitalist. AT&T, and the others I've listed and more, will recoup those 'losses' by raising income, or reducing expenses. That means they might outsource jobs to countries that have cheaper labor. John Deere and Caterpillar unions are already complaining that those companies are considering such a move. So even though the stock price or stock market has gone down yet, it doesn't mean that sunny days are ahead for the middle class. Do us all a favor and go buy a Monopoly board.;)

No debt? Guess again.

This was clearly done by a Republican, right Worthless?

I'm going to go ahead and not hold my breath while I wait for you to talk about the bullet that was fired through the window of Eric Cantor's campaign office in Richmond. But then again, what's really more dangerous, a bullet or white powder?

DOH!

Ahhh...Red Cloud. What are we going to do with you? :D

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

You obviously don't know the difference between "in debt" and "turning a profit". You probably have debt yourself, yet your earnings pay on that debt and then some. The article you linked doesn't mention the $30.9 billion in FOURTH QUARTER REVENUES, and $17.1 billion in free cash flows. Debt isn't an issue for AT&T.....at least at this point.

Sheesh. Learn economic terminology before posting worthless blather. ;)

So that $60 billion in debt is non-existent?

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Plante's a conservative. They never met a debt they didn't like (see Reagan, Bush, Bush II). :D

I love that one guy says AT&T has 0 debt, I say they are carrying a massive debt. I provide a link showing they are carrying $60,000,000,000 in debt, yet I'm the one who doesn't understand economics.

No, you linked an mid-'09 op-ed blog posting from a guy slamming his former employer for carrying a $60B in debt when they're raking it in hand-over-fist. $60B for a giant like AT&T is peanuts considering their assets and revenues. You obviously don't pay attention to the markets, do you?

I said they were carrying debt.
He said they were carrying no debt.

One of us is right, and it ain't him.

I wasn't making any suppositions about AT&T as a company or their stock price. I was just commenting that they were carrying a lot of debt. You have also admitted that I'm correct. Thank you.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

So, on the right side of the aisle a company that makes a profit carries no debt?

Wow. Does that mean since I make a salary I have no debt too? I'll have to tell my mortgage bank that I can stop paying them then.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

The house finally acts in a bi-partisan fashion in telling Obama to stuff it on his Israel stance... has there been any other president who has decided to move backwards with all his allies in one way or another?

these are the unforced errors, folks

Yes, he should blindly support Israel in their continuing goal of destabilizing the region even further.

Actually, from the evidence we see its more likely that Obama is the destabilizing feature. Not often one takes a position on the other side of the Palestinians (if one were to presume a spectrum of such things).

How come I'm not surprised to see that you would take this tact?

edit: Better question... why does Israel want to destabilize the region?

Let's see, peace talks going on, and the Israelis decide to setup 900 new settlements in an area that's supposed to be Palestinian. Any destabilization is totally Obama's fault for calling them on it. Actually this whole situation with them expanding, sounds suspiciously like lebensraum. As do many of the arguments in support of Israel, as though they should be allowed to steal land, so long as they pay back Palestine at some future date.

As for your "better question", why do the extremists in the Israeli government think this is a good idea? I dunno, they're extremists that the PM falls in line with or he loses his job. If I had to guess, they either aren't afraid of another war, since the muslims can't get their act together, or they want to be seen as the victim, and get big brother America involved in another country. I'm sure the end of days crowd in the US would love such a situation.

Let me ask you this, why should American continue to support Israel in everything they do? Why are they beyond reproach?

Because if the Muslims get control of a mountain then we all go kablooey...or something.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

anybody who thinks the Palestinians have a legitimate cause needs to read history. period.
