Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Unemployment is still in double digits, Wall Street is inflating new bubbles, banks aren't lending and more mortgages are failing...but hey lets ignore what really is worrying the people and ram through health care reform that really doesn't reform health care in the ways we were promised originally.

About time somebody other than me said this.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

All I need to know.

So, is it happening or is it not. The first one comes from the people that would have placed the message in the first place and of course they're going to deny. Then again we know they believe this stuff. Remember when some of their files got leaked to the press during previous congresses.

As for the second one... sounds multiply sourced.

I've got a secret memo from the GOP House leadership that they want health care to fail so old people die. Go ask Boner if it's real. When he denies it, guess what I'm going to say?

of course they're going to deny.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

What if they made deposits into Health Savings Accounts available until expended instead of by 4/15 of the following year?????

Because there has to be an end date so your insurance company can collect those funds. If you were able to use the funds until expended, insurance companies wouldn't be able to take that money.

If passing fake memos to the dumb press isn't bad enough (although it did fool Patman):D now we've got Tea baggers shouting the n word at black Dem congressman on their way to a meeting. USCHO righties (Patman, MinnFan, eagleshockeyfan, etc) what exactly does the color of an elected officials skin have to do with their views on the health care debate, and are you in favor of such tactics?

I don't know... what does their skin color have do with those things... no, I'm not in favor of jerks acting like jerks. I'm not in favor of people like Rover painting an twisted broadbrush of an entire group just because some *******s decide that their vocal chords need to say vile things. I'm sick of seeing people decide to take a group of knuckleheads and declare an entire group as racist despite the issues involved having only a very scant relationship to race. Such nuances seem to be lost on the people who claim the intellectual high-ground. Still trying to pigeonhole people into lost stereotypes in order to marginalize them.

---

All that aside, we're a day away from seeing the stock market tank. I hope you get your jollies out on this now, Rover. This whole thing is going to cause so many problems you haven't even begun to think about. But, again, this has been a morality play and not a procedure created to help society. This is not a pragmatic object by any means. The trouble is, it'll bring you down at the same time it brings me down. Funny, I don't remember having to pay a penalty for the moralism of Republicans... but it always seems to me that there is one for the moralism of Democrats.

That seems reasonable.

John Lewis is a hero of the civil rights era and certainly shouldn't be treated that way (assuming the taunts happened and I have no reason to believe they didn't). However, standards of decency should be applied evenly. And that would preclude Mr. Lewis from making the evidently obligatory "Nazi" references on the floor of the Congress the next time something displeases him. Deal?

Do you walk around downtown with a sign saying "The End is Nigh!"? This bill is going to do nothing except give insurance companies more customers. This ridiculous belief by the Right that it is going to crater the economy is about as stupid as a political commentary from Cheney's daughter. And I know you are smarter than that so please stop trying to act dumb.

This bill does nothing but put more money into the hands of the companies that are supposedly evil. If insurance companies are screwing everyone over in what world does it make sense to force another 30 million people to have to do business with them? That is akin to saying drugs are bad but then making it illegal to not buy the drugs from your local crack dealer. If I had stock in a health care company I would be doing a happy dance right now. Thanks again to Obama and his friggin corrupt Dem leadership allies!

The money going to those insurance companies is going to come out of the economy in some way, shape or form. I personally have no faith that any savings will occur, why would savings occur when the easier thing is just to go further into deficit or tax more? There is no incentive to make the decisions/assumptions that drive the math behind the estimates. Look at the track record in DC, should anybody believe the estimates will come true?

Did they predict social security would be bankrupt when they put it in? Did they predict billions of dollars in fraud when they put welfare in? Did they predict medical costs appropriately in the last umpteen federal budgets?

All of these programs are sold on the "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday..." approach. If they walked in and said they were cutting the following programs immediately to pay for this program then I would have some reason to believe the whole thing wasn't predicated on a house of cards.

Instead, everything is in the future and dependent upon a litany of assumptions that likely have less than 5% chance of hapening in concurrence. What a great tactic to avoid having to face any facts in the short-term.

As has been said on here a million times, the program itself is a noble cause, it has been saddled with so many add-ons, favors and rationalizations that it no longer resembles the original intent.

Aren't insurance companies part of the economy? Aren't they private corporations that you esteem so highly?
