Norwich Cadets '13-14 - A New Look Forward

Re: Norwich Cadets '13-14 - A New Look Forward

They dressed 17 skaters this past weekend and I would expect them to dress the full compliment this Saturday

Re: Norwich Cadets '13-14 - A New Look Forward

No activity in three days ... guess everyone is really stoked for the playoffs huh?

Ready for the playoffs? Absolutely. Let's see since the Cadet victory Saturday night I have gone on a crash diet to get in shape. I have quit smoking, drinking and staying out late.

Every day, to build my stamina I walk (not run) down to Duffy's Tavern here in Kenebunk for a glass of merlot (the doctor says its good for me). I just want McShane to know I am on a real concentrated training regimen to make sure I am ready if the Coach needs to go deeper into his bench. ;)

Ready? Absolutely. Go Cadets....ride them Skidmore ponies.....

Re: Norwich Cadets '13-14 - A New Look Forward

Careful, Skidmore is known to play for ties.....oh wait....there's no ties in the playoffs !!

Shush:mad:.....Don't even think that because the next thing you know, someone more hockey savvy than me will correctly point out to that; "According to ECAC-E Rule #33 point blah blah blah--- that in the event no one scores after a five minute OT that the teams in question would go to a shoot out until a winner is decided. [/I].:(

And that my friends would not be an equitable outcome to this NU seasons that has been full of bumps in the road...all of which mean I would immediately return to Duffy's Tavern and start drinking again.

Re: Norwich Cadets '13-14 - A New Look Forward

Kudos to Norwich, Coach McShane did not bury the depleted Thoroughbreds, allowing their Seniors to end their careers with dignity, the game was clean, hard fought but devoid of any late thuggery. The Norwich fans were class from the Knotty Shamrock before 'til the parking lot after the game. As parents watching our collective sons' meaningful hockey end after 14 years was bittersweet, made palatable by the Norwich experience. Thanks

You are welcome ... it was a pleasure watching those Skidmore vets for four years ... a talented and classy group!

Hey Prez or Cadet Crosby, is the game Sat night vs Castleton sold out? Can't find any open seats on the website. Inquiring fans want to know! Thanks

The game IS NOT sold out. We had to wait for Castleton to fufill its ticket allotment and allow the season ticket holders to purchase their seats.

There could be some seats opening up later today. But as always we have tons of standing room tickets available. If you want to be safe, purchase that ticket and then find an empty seat on game day.

George ties the entire NU sports programing together into a superb communications package--he is indeed the voice of Cadet Sports. And I look forward to today's broadcast against the Spartans.:) George is a real professional. Good luck Cadets

I've seen George from the time I first went to school at Dartmouth and he was on the predecessor of the current version of Channel 22 (WEZF-TV or maybe WVNY - it seem to have been both) in Burlington, covering the evil empire known as UVM hockey (some Dartmouth people can never get comfortable with UVM hockey and its defection Hockey Excess, er East). and finally showed up with the legendary Dave Moody as the voice of NU Hockey when Kreitzberg opened. He has alway been the consummate pro and always a pleasure to listen to, regardless of who his broadcast partner is, and certainly has become associated in most people's mind as the voice of Cadet sports.

I have have VHS tapes of George doing the NCAA 1987 final at Plattsburgh and Plattsburgh versus Moscow Spartak games. Fun to watch.
