Whelp… here I am in Geneva, having a bite to eat before heading over to the game.
figured I’d better visit the Cooler and the Domes while I still can!!
Be sure to stop-down at the Booster Club Lounge in the Domes before the game today… ice-level, North-West ‘corner’. There will be a tasty beverage of your choice coming your way on me! (Doesn’t have be fermented… the hot cider is pretty damn good, too!)

Cheers!!!

An absolute pleasure to meet-up with jerrynu26 and put a face to the screen name. My only regret is not getting to buy you that round, and for that I am sorry. Next time, don’t let that happen! :0)

The Saturday score was also not in your favor, making this a less-than-desirable road trip, I am sure. I hope our meet-up put a small positive in it for you, and I look forward to the next time. Most evenly-matched game I’ve seen this year, and both teams left everything on the ice today. I am fairly certain they will do it again before the year is done, most likely with more on the line.

Again, a pleasure to meet you, and safe travels home.

Cheers!!!, my friend.

After missing an entire season, it’s very difficult to get back into the habit of watching again. That’s especially true of DIII hockey where it takes effort to watch it - you don’t stumble across it because it happens to be on ESPN.

I’m sure the virus is having an impact on in-person attendance too. Some people may be weary of exposure, certainly. But it impacts it in other ways too. Personally, I’m not too worried about the virus. But, I am worried about logistics.

I’ve been hoping to get up to a game this winter and have been eyeing the Hobart game in February. But do I want to schedule a trip for a game that I’m not even 100% sure will happen? How many of the regular Norwich fans don’t live in the immediate Northfield area? How many people are not planning trips they otherwise would’ve planned because there’s no certainty surrounding the schedule?

Thanks! Was great meeting you also, and to see the booster room. I know a lot of us wish we could have something like that, but having the arena on a dry campus eliminates that as an option.
The games certainly didn't go the way I would have liked to see, but it was good to see they were close. Time will tell if they gel in February (if there are still games then).

In any case, I got to experience a day as an ice road trucker on the way home! Thanks again for the hospitality... if you ever end up in Northfield, I'll return the favor!!

Unless something changes, there are no plans to limit spectators at any upcoming Norwich games.

Life has been fairly busy for me, but I did catch the two games this weekend. Disappointing losses but a whole lot of good came from the games. Most importantly the team constantly came back and fought hard until the buzzer. I have to remember this is a really young team and line changes are still occurring. Despite this, the kids are showing improvement every game. We're not the team of 2019, none of the teams are, so it is anybody's chance to win by 1 in a back and forth game that goes to OT. I was a little more upset with the Elmira game, I think we should have won based on some blatent penalties that should have been called in the third period. Nothing shamefull about this weekend, in fact, I think Coach was impressed. My bet is we will see some stronger scoring and defense in the rest of the season.

get the close losses and learning lessons out of the way now before it really counts in February and March.

The only "drawback" is right now unless the Cadets get really hot, they might be looking at having to go on the road for two of the three playoff rounds. LOTS of hockey left to be played regardless that could easily change that, but I still feel very strongly this team will be in the mix and playing its best hockey when it matters. Coach Ellsworth's teams have done that every year he's been here and I don't see that stopping this year.

Two important road games this weekend. Hopefully get back on track to stop this mini skid against JWU and then a big big matchup at UMB, which has been a tough place to get the full allotment of points for a lot of teams for quite some time now. Six points this weekend, would be huge for this young team to start building on as they prepare for crunch time.

figured I'd put this here since they are in this division...Goalie Brandon Kesel from Skidmore is up with the Utica Comets AHL

Heck of a debut for Mr. Gaudette last night. Perhaps a glimpse of one of the missing pieces last night with a potential of another high-end scorer being added to the lineup?!

big test today against UMass Boston and always tough rink to play at. 3 points today would be HUGE for this team.

A natural hat trick is a very good start! And that has been lacking in the past few seasons. It also looks like there must have been a little talk during the first intermission... the power play goal given up wan't so bad, but the other -sheesh.......

What is the story behind our new player, Gaudette. I know he transferred from Univ. of Maine and looks like he will be a good help for Norwich if he continues playing like last night. From Univ. of Maine to Norwich seems like an interesting story, or maybe too interesting to publish.

Maine has a new coach and he's facing a near-total rebuild. My guess is that he's purging the roster to make room for his own recruits.

The Kerner, O'Mara and Gaudette line scored 11 points out of a team total of 17 last night, including Gaudette's natural hat trick, 4 goals total (3 of which were power plays) and 7 assists! Impressive stats but let's see them do that again without scoring 3 of their 4 goals on the power play. I would like to see Coach keep that line intact tonight to see what they can do against UMB. At any rate, Gaudette, is a welcomed player and adds to some of our scoring power.

Attherton looked cold in the first period but it is hard to be "on your game" for half a period when all the action is at the other end of the rink. Former stand out goalie Tom Aubrun was excellent at doing this and could offer him some advice. Glad Attherton came back in the 2nd and shut out J & W from there.

Norwich's depth is a great asset when we have two top forwards (Williams and Elgstam) out. Was pleasantly surprised with Van de Meerakker playing forward, he played well as did Delvecchio.

Kudos to J & W for their improvement during the first half of the season. They were a much better team than what we saw on Nov.6th.

Looks like Gaudette replaced Cole Creger on the roster. Didn't Creger score a goal in the first exhibition game and then got hurt? His new player profile looked promising. Good luck to him in his future.

Cadet's beat UMB 2-1 in a close game with incredibly horrible officiating (so many calls missed that were soooo obvious including two hand passes by UMB and 2 shots on goal after the whistle). Attherton was stellar today. Brandon Jones had a great game and is really improving. The whole team played pretty well with few mistakes. Cadet's earn 6 much needed points over the weekend. I like what I am seeing.

I so agree Prez, I think it is going to come down to which teams make the least mistakes. Going to be a nail bitter the rest of the season!

When your league evolves into one of the best in the country days like yesterday are going to happen.
Skidmore is GOOD!
Having Elgstam, Swanson and List would have helped too.
So now 5 games left ... three of them on the road ... back to work!
