Northeastern Huskies 2010 Offseason: Lots of home ice now

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2010 Offseason: Lots of home ice now

Random thought. I was looking at some discussions of the draft and someone mentioned Bitetto, no first name, but there are no Bitetto's in the draft. The GoNU blurb also mentioned he was receiving consideration from NHL teams. Any chance he get drafted in a later round?

Not sure about Bitetto, but Johansen just went 4th in the draft to Columbus. Would have been interesting to see if he would have gone anywhere near that high in the draft if he had chosen to stick with his NU commitment instead of going to the WHL.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2010 Offseason: Lots of home ice now

The draft is for 18 and 19 year olds. Bitetto turns 20 on July 15. I'm not sure what the cutoff date is.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2010 Offseason: Lots of home ice now

Bitetto got drafted, 18th pick of the 6th round (168th overall). Amusingly he got drafted by Nashville, where the GM was a Northeastern player

Hey everybody, I'm going to be going to Northeastern starting this fall for grad school and so I thought I'd come here and introduce myself. I did my undergrad at Oswego State in New York where I grew to love DIII Hockey. I'm a pretty big hockey fan so I'm sure I'll be attending plenty of games, as well as being relatively active on the boards once the season starts up and I get to know more about the Huskies.

I moved from Denver to Boston a couple of seasons ago and went to many NU games over the two years I was there. Matthews is an unbelievable place to see a game (and one that I will come back to visit frequently). I became very attached to the NU program and will follow them closely forever. You will find some great NU fans around here, and I must say from first hand experience that they are a very welcoming group. Good luck at Northeastern!

I couldn't e-mail you thru this site so why don't you e-mail me.

I'll introduce you to Husky Hockey on Saturday night October 9th. I'll provide you a ticket (1st row balcony, Center Ice) and show you around Matthews Arena, including the Makris Club.

Sounds like a plan, buddy! Sorry we didn't get a chance to get together before we left. Things got really hectic, as I know they were for you, too.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2010 Offseason: Lots of home ice now

Saw an old acquaintance of mine, Jim Driscoll, up at the Dedham High School track last week. I asked him if he had anything lined up for this year and he said not yet, but wanted to play for a few years before moving on. In my mind, I think he's good enough for the ECHL...maybe somewhere overseas?

in case you didn't take a look at the thread... Rawlings is on the roster for the flyers prospect camp. Word is he was a little shaky but seemed to settle in as the day went on. I don't think he'll be heading out any time soon.

Rawlings shaky and then settling in? Guess he hasn't improved the mental part much since last season.

Bear in mind a lot of the players he's going up against have a lot more experience, and a number of them have already signed contracts with the Flyers. From what I read he's been impressive at the camp so far, so hopefully it bodes well for the upcoming year.

USHR has an article today "This Family Fine with Northeastern". Any idea who it's about, or what it's about?

5'9", 140 lb. forward Matt Gaudreau, the younger brother of Northeastern 2012 recruit John Gaudreau, has also committed to the Huskies.

The younger Gaudreau, a Dec.'94 birthdate who will be entering his sophomore year in high school, will join his brother on St. Botolph St. in the fall of '13.
