Yeah I agree. I was just kidding bc the BU pp has been so bad all year but yes it has come on as of late and it is going to come down to whoever takes less stupid penalties after the whistle that both games had last weekend. Neither team can be killing off five minute majors and losing guys to game misconducts all game.

Let's just watch those penalties.. especially when you're up by 3 goals..!??!!!

Some great goaltending for sure by Rawlings tonight.

After the 1st period jitters a fairly solid performance tonight! Nice job Chris Rawlings. Another win and you can knock BU from the NCAA bubble and for me that will make a .500 season so worth it. Keep up the good work. Duh, Winning.. is pretty fun!

Wow. first time you have ever been first after a win.

Hard to believe that NU can win a game where bu gets 10 penalties called their way to NUs 5, including 8 from the start of the 2nd period through the third, and NU still comes out on top.

Now NU can sit back tomorrow and play the counter game and hope that they can get an early one again that forces bu to really lose their game.

Easy, the BU powerplay is horrendous. Has been all year.

never against NU though. Parker and his PP always eat us alive. THe backdoor goal especially. I was surprised last weekend when he didnt go to that at NU but wanted to hit the guy in the high slot, which end up working anyway.

BU powerplay weak or not.. Rawlings def played a role in making it look worse..

Friday they'll get their full defense back (with Noonan back from suspension). Long as we can skate 5x5.. we'll be okay. Gotta stay out of the sin bin. :)

I agree 100% Eliminate BU and we can somewhat forgive the loses to Bently and HC. I hate BU more than any other HE team! Go Huskies! Wish I could be there tonight.

Nice Job NU... keep it going. After Vermont loses to UNH I will be pulling for NU to play the spoiler.

Well.. its the opponent's season tonight.. they will come out blazing.

It's all about sound decision making on ice.. let them take the penalties.. just play hockey, have a blast for 60 minutes.. skate 5x5.

Make good decisions! Fans are behind ya.. have fun :) Go NU!

Great win last night. That being said I'm expecting a completely different BU team out there tonight.

Anyone heard anything about McLaughlin? I saw him skate off gingerly favoring what looked like a knee (?) and he went straight to the locker room and did not return. I hope he's okay and just sat the rest of the game; he's definitely a work-horse and I love him on the pk.

Not really much to say to that. Combination of shaky goaltending and no discipline. I'm not going to comment on the officiating, I'll let others do that. I can't believe I have to go back to that place on Sunday when NU has very little momentum. I really didn't think we could win 3 in a row at Agganis but I thought we played a great 2nd and 3rd however undisciplined it was. Up until the 4th goal I really thought we were going to come back.

I hope our crowd is as loud on Sunday as the first two games. I love going into someone else's house and being louder than them.

Dear Steve Silva, Tyler McNeely, Wade Macleod (& other Huskies)..

wishing you guys a great gm tomorrow (and hopefully beyond)..

In the meanwhile, take some time to talk to the team & amongst yourselves and ponder this..

when you give an opponent 10 odd powerplays.. simple math.. that is about (or more than) a period's worth of hockey shorthanded!.. pretty hard to get the rhythm going let alone comeback or win..

Play 5x5 hockey.. do not take borderline penalties.. believe in your goalie (whomever it is between the pipes) because if we are a man down, you make his job more difficult.

You've played at the opponent's rink 3 straight gms now.. you know the environment.. go out there, have fun, make good decisions (x 100) & let the cards fall where they may.

Go Huskies! Go Northeasern Hockey :) G'luck team!

I'm pullin for your guys! From an MC perspective, I'd much rather see the University of No Hardware in the semis than BC...

Also, another BC-NU matchup on the year would make for an amazing semi final game.

I have been critical at time on this forum at times, but I have to say NU played with guts and desire down the stretch since the Beanpot and could likly play with any team in the nation right now and if not for the slow start we would likely be on the bubble for an NCAA spot, amidst all the early injuries, up and down goal tending they really are very fun to watch and seem to have played fairly well since Thanksgiving. Nice Job Huskies.

Also, I really don't care about shaking hands or what anyone is saying. I bet the refs kind initiated to send the players off the ice without shaking hands; it was not a coaches or players decision. Hat's off to Northeastern who generally played better hockey and took 3 of 5 games from BU in the last week all the wins on BU home ice. Clearly, BU is not an NCAA caliber team this season, because if they are, NU is too, we had better goalie over 9 periods and I think that was the difference. I am pretty excited becasue I think they have ended BU's season and NCAA bid hopes by loosening 3 of 5 to an unranked opponent down the stretch, so our Huskies should have some degree of season validation and will be a difficult foe for BC on neutral ice.
