North Dakota 2012-13

Re: North Dakota 2012-13

I know one thing. You double shift them as much as he does they are bound to take stupid penalties just for the fact that they are tired and try and take a shortcut. That is a fact. Happens all the time in the game of puck.

I only wish that were the case and fatigue was the reason.

Yeah, it's just their style. They got a lot of penalties at S-SM; they had a bunch at Minnesota. They compete very hard and are right on the edge, plus the odd undisciplined moment gets mixed in.

It's one of those fine line things. The fact they play on the edge makes them as good as they are. However playing on the edge instead of just over it is a fine line. They are the type of players you'd love to have on your team, (but hate to play against), as long as you can control the edge factor.

You can never control the edge factor--you can only hope to contain it. (That's what Dan Patrick from ESPN would say)

I know one thing as well. You clearly have some form of axe to grind.
I have no axe to grind with the twins. In fact I know both of them and they helped our local youth hockey organization with some signed USA Olympic stuff we sold at our local fund raiser. Great kids.

Was not referring to the twins. Based on various of your postings, your axe is with someone else.

BTW...My oldest D, who is the same age as the twins, played against them a couple of times in U16/U19. She got into semi fista-cups with one once. My D is 6 feet tall, so she had no problem handling them physically, and when she locked one of them up on the boards, they got into it. The Lam Twins are great players, with a physical edge to them. You could even see way back then, about 8 years ago that they were going to be exceptional.

If you think I have an axe to grind with idalski not really. My daughter had him for 2 years at a camp and just didn't care for him. I have met him myself on a few occasions and I felt the same. I could go into more detail but won't on a message board.

Coached against the twins when they were pee wees and played on the boys A team. They were full of **** and vinegar then and were the best players on the team. I told myself these girls are going places. They deserve to be where they are at. They have worked their butts off to be world class players.

Good article on Mo. UND looks to sweep the Mavs in their barn, for the first time in program history.

Re: North Dakota 2012-13

Very nice, long and thoughtful article on the Twins last home weekend.

Nice article. I'll admit it. I have considerable admiration for the twins looking at the bigger picture and doing what they have for UND women's hockey when they could have gone a different route and probably experienced greater success in NCAA tournament play.
