NHL 2024: SLC Puck

Yeah this is tough for GMs

“Risk a top player getting hurt”
“ actually get people excited about hockey and draw in new fans”
This is the NHL we’re talking about here, it’s more about the owners having to face the dilemma of “We could make a lot more money, but I’d have to share a small amount of it…”

And we all know how that usually goes.

Yeah sounds like the bruins are mad at Minnesota doctor staff about handling of McAvoy

Yeah, I get it. But also the mn doc squad is super pedigreed and …I’m not sure how often these infections actually happen after a hockey injury. But it’s your guy, you want him handled with the best care and if he’s gonna be out for a while, yeah they are gonna be mad. It’s absolutely insane to think the Wild is trying to disadvantage the bruins for a competitive advantage. The bruins probably won’t make the playoffs, what do the Wild gain screwing over McAvoy?

The vaunted east coast docs can always get it wrong, too. One of my buddies missed a verrrrrerrrry big competition from his East coast nhl doc completely bungling his diagnosis. Bruins need to be careful here

If he had the ac joint injury from Finland, why was he running around like a madman hitting mcdavid? If he was so hurt?

Aren’t usa Olympic Games always better viewed than sc playoffs?

This would be no different.
Hockey is a niche sport. Mookie loves it, but it ain’t catching on like trailblazers 💁🏾

But the Olympics don't make team owners money.

This tournament and the Olympics are awesome for the fans, even for a country that is saturated with hockey like Canada. But given the intensity, how many injuries will the NHL owners tolerate before they pull the plug again?

At least after tonight we’ll no longer have to deal with conservative idiots who “really care about hockey” yap about how Canada lost because they “disrespected the anthem!”

The hockey has been fantastic, but they’ve managed to make me completely apathetic about this game tonight. Not sure I’ll even watch it, plenty of other shows the wife and I have fallen behind on.
