NHL 2024: SLC Puck

Things like this happening is one reason that the system won't last long. It's great and intense play, but the risk to the NHL is reasonable enough to not want to let them play. The All Star break is a good way for players to recover.
I don't think there were any plans to run the 4 Nations every year. Now that the next two Olympics will use NHL players and the World Cup is back in 2028, I wonder if they will even bother with the 4 Nations concept anymore.

Except that everyone is falling over themselves telling everyone that this has to be the way to go.

From a fan standpoint, they are right, since the play is so very good. From an NHL business standpoint, it's wrong, as it physically risks the best players in the NHL.

The bruins seem like they’ve shared a few things about him.

Quinn Hughes in Boston, he can’t join team unless a defenseman is classified as out

Sanderson about to get whacked by Jeff gilooly

Because Ice Hockey is really the only team sport without a World Championship where the best players actually get to play against each other. People really want to see a real World Championship. Baseball and Basketball have managed to pull it off but hockey can’t.

TBF, the NHL is not totally to blame here. The IIHF and the European feds (looking at you Russia) carry an equal share of the blame as well.

Does Trump eve

Does Trump even know hockey is a sport? He only seems to talk about football, baseball, and golf. And he knows that NASCAR races in Daytona but I think that’s his extent of knowledge of racing.
He probably thinks Americans don't even play it.

Goddamn you bill guerin
“We would love it if President Trump was in attendance,” Geurin said. “We have a room full of proud American players and coaches and staff and listen, we’re just trying to represent our country the best way we can.” He also credited Trump’s recent jabs at Canada and calls to turn it into the 51st state with helping improve his team’s game. He said the two countries have always had “political flare” and that “our guys used that as an inspiration.”

I totally agree, but when I see players in these games getting hurt, I can easily understand why the NHL would be resistant to do this very often.

It was interesting to see the talking heads on ESPN tell the NBA to do something like this Cup, especially since they charge fans a LOT of money to watch a very bad all star game.

I’m not sure this would work in the NBA. How many countries can field full teams? We’d just end up with USA 2 vs USA 4 in the final.

Yeah you really can’t. Canada has the most NBA players outside of the US with 21, France has 14, Australia has 13, Germany has 8, and Serbia has 6.

Source.

Stop you’re making me think professional athletes may not be very bright.
I once had an NHL player ask me to leave his house because i was being rude to another woman there

We were talking and someone said the phrase guerilla warfare and this chick said she hated when the armies made the gorillas fight and learn how to use machine guns

I lost it and never recovered, worth it

CHICAGO -- Bobby Hull, the Hall of Fame forward and two-time NHL MVP who helped the Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 1961, had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) when he died two years ago, his widow said in a statement released Wednesday.

Researchers at Boston University's CTE Center found that Hull had Stage 2 CTE when he died in 2023. He was 84.

Hull struggled with short-term memory loss and impaired judgment over his final decade. He chose to donate his brain after seeing former teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Stan Mikita, who died in 2018, decline late in his life.
