NHL 2024: SLC Puck

So the Tkachuks line had the best chemistry and they decide to be tough and sit out the first five minutes, which leads to a McDavid goal.

Love seeing a MAGA at GPL be exasperated by the Canadians booing the SSB.
Oooh who? I barely read there anymore

What a little bitch, just looked. So he can complain about the booing, but you are not allowed to comment on it.

Exactly why I left that site- too many disgusting conservatives who never seem to face consequences but oh no, if a non orc says something, rube and gator will cry like the cucked little bishes they are

Honestly it's not that bad. He makes a few comments like that now and again, but 5OT for one was banned for going over the top with it and no one else on the site has gone near it for a long time.

The US had been dominating play the past several minutes but now go on the PK. Would be a huge momentum switch if they give one up here.

Fair, but I’ll never forgive them for caving in to the dickless men who cried to mods when two of us simply described our Covid symptoms (this was early on in COVID). I hate giving in to nazis

US secures a spot in the final.

Scenarios are pretty easy actually. The remaining teams have two points but both beat Sweden.

Canada or Finland:
-In with a regulation win
-In with any win and US takes a point

Sweden:
-Needs regulation win and Canada-Finland to go OT.

It’ll be interesting to see what the ratings are but three fights in the nine seconds definitely lit social media on fire and was certainly a stark contrast to the NBA’s all-star weekend.

Conceptual question- given that these guys are all in the NHL, can we expect the highest level of international hockey competition be played like an NHL game? That's what it looks like. Not saying this as if it's a problem, but it would seem that the style of play can't change too much between countries if their most skilled are playing an NHL style of game.

It certainly makes a far, far more interesting All Star weekend. My gosh. I could care less about those games, these are played at a VERY high level and with some real intensity. I kind of feel for the more senior players on the teams that can really use a few days off of a normal all star weekend. This is harder than normal games.

If only Sweden had defeated Finland, tonight’s game could have been more fun

Both tkachuks are out now but assuming they’ll be on ice Thursday limbless or not

Charlie McAvoy admitted to hospital today, Yeesh. Wonder if it’s illness or injury. He was absolute mad man Saturday night

McAvoy out per the Bruins, though Team USA has yet to say anything.
Things like this happening is one reason that the system won't last long. It's great and intense play, but the risk to the NHL is reasonable enough to not want to let them play. The All Star break is a good way for players to recover.
