he called players retards and apparently used some racial slurs. The other coaches didn’t go along with this so he fired them all Monday.

So Rutger McGroarty pulled a Lindros and got himself traded to Pittsburgh, telling the Jets, "It just didn't feel right." I'm assuming Canadian taxes weren't worth the losing and the Winterpeg lifestyle.
 
Final day of 2026 Olympic qualifying.

Three winner take-all matches to decide the final spots:
Slovakia vs Kazakhstan
France vs Latvia
Denmark vs Norway

However, if Russia is still banned in 2026, based on what they did for the qualifiers when Belarus was still banned, it is likely that Slovaka, Latvia, or Denmark/Norway would still qualify as the highest ranked non-qualified team depending how results go today.
 
Slovakia, Latvia, and Denmark all win to advance to the Olympics.

I was wrong earlier about sending the highest ranked team. It was actually the best finisher from the last round that allowed Hungary to move on. Right now that would be France. France, Norway, and Kazakhstan are all tied at 6 points, but France leads the goal differential +6 to +3 to +2.

Slovakia and Latvia are slated to be in Group C with the US and Russia. No word if they'll reassign groups if Russia is a no go.
 
Cole Caufield is switching his number to 13 to honor Gaudreau.

Also, the man accused of killing them ironically works at an addiction rehab facility, though a couple people said it was on the finance side and not the actual rehab work.

over 1k games played on four teams. Loved watching him in his prime. Enjoy your new son (the one from ivf that Donnie and jv think shouldn’t exist) and I hope he goes to culinary school like he’s always wanted.
