Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I'm up 41 (thank you Chris Johnson) and the only player left for either of us is Brees for him. Yay for heart attack Monday!! :o :D

I should be OK...but Brees unfortunately can put up that much...

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I lost to a guy for the second time this year. He's 0-6 against everyone else.:p

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

A great fantasy day for me and second win in a row is really put on the back burner with the loss of Owen Daniels.

Daniels has been outstanding for me this year as the top TE in our league and steady constant of points every week.

I have no TE back-up and with the year TE's are having, I'm going to be at disadvantage at that position every week now. There are slim pickings on the waiver wire.

Anybody have any deep sleeper suggestions?

Keller, Heap, Miller, Watson are all available off the top of my head.

One team has Tony Gonzalez and Vernon Davis on their team. I was thinking of trying to offer him a trade for one of them with me giving up Crabtree or Housh. Both have been riding my bench this year because I have Wayne and DeSean Jackson.

Thoughts?

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

TE situation

I'd pick up Miller if you have a drop possibility. He's put up pretty good numbers this year, and seems to be a preferred target for Ben.

He's been getting 5-6 catches a game, and somewhere around 40-50 yards average, with 4TD's. Realistically, the average TE will probably net you 4-6 points a week unless they're a consistent TD threat.

Unfortunately not Heath...That'd be easy. haha...Im talking about Oakland's Zac.

heh, oops. I was surprised a bit, but Heath was available in my league until week 4 or so when I picked him up for Watson.

The issue with Keller is he's entering a bye week, and until this week has been quiet recently. However he had a good day today.

Watson hasn't been getting much action since week 1, I wouldn't expect that to change... there's too many targets there.

If you're gonna go the waiver route, Heap looks like the best bet statistically, and he is coming out of a bye week last week, so you don't have to worry about that for a while. He had his second lowest output this week against Denver, but has Cinci and Cleveland coming up, so the opportunity to put up some points is there.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I had a wonderful week:

Slaton: benched
Daniels: out for year

And, our FFL commish reminded a team who had a guy who had a player on the bye to "check his lineup," which normally would not be a big deal, except for the fact that that kind of advice is forbidden in unwritten rules (there was a flap about it a couple years ago) and the replacement player scored. I doubt I'll will, I'm down 14 with only NO K going tomorrow, but it's the principle.

And thanks to my suggestion of not offering advice in the future, there is now some needless "drama" in our league.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

so I'm winning by 28 my opponent has Brees and Pierre Thomas left....any chance I win?

Using a general Yahoo League scoring reference.....not really. But scoring system is key in any of these questions. In my league, you'd win hands down.

its basic yahoo...lets hope the swine flu gets brees

I do love that I was ****ed off this morning when I forgot to check on Berrians status before the first games started and then when I checked it, yahoo said he wasn't playing...and then he played

Conversely, in my league...you would not be in a good situation. I'm still a little unsure about being up 41 with just Brees left.

Jesus, is everyone on this board playing vs. Brees this week? I have an 18 point lead with Turner going vs. Brees and Roddy White. I don't like my chances.

You're done. At least, if I were a betting man, that's what I would bet.

And I'm not going against Brees. I just hope he does well enough to get to the red zone and then stall at least 5 times. ;)

I'm hoping for a grind-it-out bloody-knuckle game in which Roddy White gets traded to the Raiders right before kickoff. Then Turner goes for 220 yards and four TDs in the 1st quarter and subsequently goes over to the Saints sideline and kicks Brees in the throat.

Any bets?:D

Edit: In reality, I figure if Turner gets me 22 points, I'm fighting to win, Anything less, and I'm PWN3D.
