Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Dolphins-Panthers on NFLN. They made several sound adjustments just during the three-minute intro. Last week those watching in standard definition couldn't hear the announcers for the first 10 minutes of game action. We'll see how they do tonight.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Lost Owen Daniels to injury this year. Best TE available was Zack Miller from Oakland.

PPR Keeper league where you keep four players.

My four keepers players are Wayne, Ray Rice, Rivers, and AP without a doubt.

I just traded away LeSean McCoy for Brent Celek.

LeSean McCoy was my third RB but able to play in the flex spot. Housh was sitting on my bench so i looked at the trade as long as Housh and Celek outscore McCoy the rest of the season I win it.

Is this a bad way of looking at it?

I desperately needed to get better at the TE spot and Celek has been awesome this year and scored a TD in his last three games.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Carolina looked good early, but Miami has taken over the last 10 minutes of the half.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

So, uh, Ricky Williams isn't quite washed up yet, I guess.

This is two weeks in a row now that one of my RBs has had a big Thursday game; hopefully the rest of the team will be able to make it stand up this time.

I played the guy with Ricky....DOYYYYY...

32.8 points in the hole already :(....I'm still projected to win but I've got a long uphill road to climb especially when he's probably going to get 30 more points from Maurice Jones-Drew running wild on the Bills defense.

MJD, in an ESPN NFL Countdown bit:

So I took a knee at the one. We won the game. It's not like I went for it on 4th down inside my own 30. Who'd be that crazy?

:D

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

So how insane am I for starting the Lions defense today?:p

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I knew that would happen. Heehee. Oh well. It seemed like it was just crazy enough to work, but obviously not. :D

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Halftime intro/outro for the Vikings game, they were having the local mascots playing some flag football with the Pop Warner types. The play-by-play guy, "And there's the University of MN's Goldy Gopher, who's dressed like a bear...for whatever reason."

It was the standard Goldy uniform. He thinks Goldy's head looks like a bear head. :D

Anyone who has TiVo, rewind it. Goldy stiff arms one kid and then runs over the next. It's absolutely awesome. :D

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I had a great idea.

What if New Orleans and Indy both go undefeated and meet up in the Super Bowl? I say this is a "great idea" because then the 1972 Dolphins would go away. Forever.

Your hatred of Indy should keep you from even suggesting that

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Unbelievably, the Lions now have a 31-27 lead toward the end of the third.
