Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Scenario in the CIN/OAK game:

CIN has the ball, own 45, no TO's left, down by 3. 5 seconds left. What does the announcer say?

"I think a Hail Mary is in order here."

NO. SH*.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

My opponent started Julius Jones and Brian Westbrook. Up by 30 with Maclin and Chris Johnson yet to go. He's got Greg Olsen and Philly's D.

I'm pretty sure this week will be wrapped up after tonight's game...:)

One of the guys in my league started Dwayne Bowe. :p

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Favre + Boldin + Ricky Williams + Cotchery + Kevin Smith + Pittsburgh D = massive win for one of my fantasy teams, even before Slaton plays tomorrow night. So now I guess I want him to have a mediocre game since I'm going against him and have a narrow lead (thanks, Marshawn Lynch  ) in my other league.

Ricky Williams, Aaron Rodgers, Sidney Rice, Adrian Peterson, Nate Kaeding, Hines Ward, Marion Barber, Giants D. Up by 25 and all he has left is the Bears D. Hopefully Cedrick B gets healthy soon as I play the 3 teams ahead of me (no divisions, just straight W-L across the league) in consecutive weeks.

You're sitting ok.

I'd like the team in 2nd place (one game ahead of me) to win this week. He'd knock out the 3 teams behind me out of the playoffs. And I still play him once more, and if my score holds up, I'd be tied with him for the other playoff spot. (First place will have clinched this week, if second place wins)

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Some QBs start every game, every year, year after year after year.

Ben Roethlisberger's backup, Charlie Batch, took four snaps yesterday and will now miss six weeks due to wrist surgery.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

The Earl Campbell highlights were great, but I was hoping ESPN would choose to commemorate the night that fan in the Astrodome flipped off the camera and Don Meredith ad libbed, "They're number one in the nation!"

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Well crap, Slaton is already almost all the way to the 12 points that'll lose one of my games.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

That wasn't even close.

If I read right (assuming it wasn't narrowed down to a yardage spread this year) Brown is 10-14 on FG's before tonight. And he misses a game-leading, and game-winning FG? At home?

Uh ohhhhhh.

Normally he's really reliable, too. So either he's lost it, or he's hurt and no one knows about it.

I thought I heard he got dropped on an earlier play by Cortland Finnegan...maybe he was hurt on that and just didn't tell anyone.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Or maybe he just missed a 50+ yard field goal? They're not exactly gimmes

For Brown? It's not exactly a difficult kick. And I thought the other one he missed was in the low-40's which is a gimme for him.

I draft him for at least a backup every year in FFL because of his reliability. Sure, K's usually don't matter much, but there's a couple that I put above the rest because of accuracy/etc. He's one of maybe 3 that are always on my list.
