New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

That 18-win season when he averaged 5.1 innings per start and got ridiculous run support was a curse in disguise.

At least Cashman & co. were able to cut their losses w/ Igawa. :(

Really like how this worked out. The Red Sox pay out the hiney for Matsuzaka, and the Yankees are the ones who get to own him.

As much as the Yankees would enjoy owning him, they'll probably have to settle for a time-share. :D :o

Any pictures of Dice-K with the words FAIL under it? That kind of sums up his night.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

this is like watching vintage braves games with glavine or maddux on the mound. pitches a foot off the plate are getting called strikes.

isn't mlb supposed to have scmods or something to control this?!?

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Alexander Rodriguez is a good baseball player.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

I liked Chan Ho Park better when he had the shiits.

cashman needs to designate this clown now because girardi doesnt know what to do with the bullpen. i know they miss aceves, but they had better options with the lead.

arod saved them

Marcus Thames can't hit righties.

that pitch was about the same pitch that dice k tried to get by him earlier in the game that thames hit to the wall.. dice k's had a little offspeed movement on it that seemed to confuse thames and he really only got his arms on it... snapplebon's was pretty straight (though tailing in onto his hands) and he just got his whole body behind it. unreal.

I don't know how many of you saw Girardi's post-game news conference but he was adamant that Javy was not demoted by being in the bullpen last night. He needed Javy in the bullpen as Joba and Robertson were unavailable yesterday. Javy could have thrown 100 pitches if he needed to. Joe said Javy is on track to still make his start against the Mets this weekend. He also said Javy could have thrown up to 50 pitches last night and would still be able to make his start against the Mets.

Chan Ho Suck - time to get rid of him.

Speculation by local sportscasters is that Nick Johnson is probably done for the year. He is an extremely slow healer.

Yanks have had some pretty good success against Papelbum.

Why am I not completely buying Joe's excuses.

I'm shocked! Absolutely shocked! I figured for certain that Nick would play at least 150 games. :)

It was former LoHud d-bag Pete Abraham that asked that question to Girardi that set him off. He's a piece of crap. Sounds like it was just Javy's throw day. We've seen Pettitte come out of the pen at times to get an inning in on his throw day before. They couldn't use Robertson last night, Joba couldn't go because he got up twice on Saturday (I saw that myself) and then pitched (crappy) on Sunday.

Fankly, I'm cool with Girardi not Torre-ing the bullpen, it just looks maddening at the time when he's doing it. I'm willing to give Park a break because it was his first outing from off the DL. He seemed to get his, ahem, crap in order before he went down.

One thing I liked about Torre and now Girardi, use the starting pitcher on their throw day for an inning once in a while, helps the bullpen out.

Girardi also set up Javy to pitch against the Mets as he was in the NL last season and apparently is halfway decent with the bat. Its cold and rainy here so tonight's game should be interesting if it isn't rained out.

Even though Hughes didn't have his best stuff last night, he battled enough to deserve the win. Robertson and Joba are good to go tonight so Park probably won't be needed. I like the way Joe has been handling the Swisher and Posada injuries by getting them in and out of the line up without getting them further injured. Cervelli has been fantastic so far and is Kevin Long's star pupil. He also calls a good game behind the plate. No matter what the biggest key to this team is the starting pitching. If Javy can get on track, I think they take the division. Girardi is always looking long term and knows that if he needs to give someone an extra day now it is so they are ready when it comes to crunch time.

i'm aghast that girardi just sat there while that inning transpired.. though not surprised. i did enjoy them getting robertson and marte warming up even though they had no intention of bringing them in.

sabathia should punch girardi in his face. somewhere trey hillman is laughing at the new worst manager in baseball
