New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Teixeira's home run today might be the furthest home run I've ever witnessed in person. It also landed four sections over from where I was sitting.

Yeah, I had a good view from Section 411 - funny, right before that pitch my non-Yankee fan friend said "this game is kind of boring" - I'll have to bring her along more often. :D

FYI, checked out the Malibu Terrace Deck - seems nice, but I don't want to pay for a ticket to a ball game and then go somewhere where I can only see the ball game on TV...

How are those suites? I have a chance to go next month and was wondering it it's worth it.

Solid. Can't complain one bit about them. Free food and soda up there (for the party suites anyhow). Cash bar for beer. It's really nice up there. If you get a chance to check it out, do it.

Bizarro day is all. Mitre pitches great, Winn gets a two-run triple, Robertson was solid for two innings and then Joba pitches like crap, Tex makes a bad play at first and Mariano has to come in and give up the slop.

Basically everything that's been wrong this year went right and vice versa. Oh well.

considering they hadn't won on the road against the Yankees since 2007, I guess a win for the Twinkies was due... oh well, can't win em all!

I watched some of the WWOR broadcast yesterday. From what I heard I like your broadcast team. Nice change of pace in that they don't sit and talk about stupid crap inning after inning. They tell you whats going on and add some color here and there.

Although I'm not a fan of the "cya" homerun call for some reason.

Wanna trade?

Well, can't complain about 2 out of 3 against anyone. Especially a team that's played as well as the twins have played this year.

Seeing Mariano give up a grand slam sure was something else though... ah well, looking forward to seeing the Yankees when they come to target field soon!

content wise, sterling is fine; he is just very cheesy with all of his homerun calls. waldmyn's voice is beyond annoying (though better since she cant start every sentence with 'JOE TORRE SAID...').

anyhoo, i dont get to listen to that many yankees broadcasts. but 'cya' sounds like michael kay anyway.

Yeah, it wasn't Waldmyn. It must of been Kay and then some former player as the color guy.

Very cheesy doesn't begin to state how horrible Sterling is on HR call. He's God Awful. Maybe some of the worst one's in history.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Sterling and Waldmyn have to be the worst radio broadcasters in baseball. Outside of Sterlings awful Hr calls, he also can't see anymore and is always two steps behind each play. I remember listening earlier this year and he was questioning why the pitcher kept throwing to first base trying to hold Tex. After he stole second he realized it was Gardiner. As for Waldmyn, her voice says it all.

I loved when they brought in Charlie Steiner for that brief period earlier in the decade, he made Sterling sound a little less like a moron because Steiner really knew the game. Waldmyn on the other hand sits there with the Elias Sports Bureau information and the stats sheet and pretends like she knows what she is talking about.
