I perused a list of his movies. I kind of like The People Vs. Larry Flynt, although parts of it dragged. I've only actually seen a handful of his movies.

Nixon was great -- well, the two lead performances were anyway.
Looking through his list of movies, they are mostly vehicles for strong individual characters / performances. They are very old-style movies in that way.

Not for me. That was an amazing movie. For me (and for lack of a better comparison, off the top of my head), what South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut said about censorship, NBK did for media exploitation/sensationalism. Pure genius.

For a moment, let's ignore the odd parenting choices that would make someone think that kids this young are mature enough to handle a movie like Se7en, and just enjoy the look on their faces when the twist comes.
(I removed the video. Turns out that this dude just put the soundtrack to Se7en over a reaction video of two kids watching The Empire Strikes Back)

I was surfing Amazon.com, and I noticed the Star Wars: The Complete Saga (the blu-ray release) has only earned 2.5 stars. People are not fond of the changes Lucas made - yet again. The "corrections," were, apparently, not altogether correct either.

Saw Drive this weekend. Really liked it, even if it seemed to be way more style than substance. The 80s vibe was fun, although I kept expecting James Spader to show up. Not Boston Legal or The Office James Spader...Less Than Zero or sex, lies, and videotape James Spader.
Albert Brooks was fantastic.

Jesus. That company is all over the place right now. I dropped them a while ago, so i didn't get this email. I'm just glad i don't have stock in them! Down 50% in the last few months. One has to wonder how long before people start calling for the CEO's head.

Got a Blu-Ray player as a wedding present a week ago. Picked up Transformers - Dark of the Moon as the first Blu-Ray disk (because I knew it would look awesome on the HDTV).
Any other must have Blu-Ray movies? I know there are a lot of crappy movies that shouldn't take advantage of Blu-Ray's pretty looks and I'll be just fine with the DVD versions of them.

Well, when I switched from analog to HDTV, I was mesmerized by the nature shows, how vivid they were, so I'd agree with Planet Earth. Other than that, I would imagine that any movie with a lot of good special effects would be worth it (Matrix, 300, etc). I can't say I've bought any Blu-Ray discs (I only have one, "Grown Ups," that I got with my PS3 package, and I still haven't watched the movie even though I got the PS3 around April).
Anyone see "Ides Of March" yet? That may be one I'd go to the theater to see. It looks awesome.

Im hoping to finally upgrade to blueray and HDTV around Christmas myself. One of the first movies I plan to buy is Inception. I happened to see Wall-E in HD one day it looked amazing. Another friend of mine said Cars is amazing in HD as well and Ive heard similar things about other Pixar movies in HD. So I would recommend them as well. And even though I havent seen it in HD I would agree with the Planet Earth series. Its pretty awesome without the HD so I imagine the HD is brilliant.

Agree. Whoa, Albert Brooks was chillingly good. I could see this again (I'd be a bit more prepared for the violence!)
