Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Rest assured, Kepler will hate it if it has higher than a 75% on rottentomatoes ;)

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Has he poo pooed Inception yet? :D

He hasnt seen it yet I am guessing...see he will wait until everyone has seen it and loves it, that way it cant meet the hype and he can burn it at the stake :D ;) :p

Of course Tron wont make nearly as much as a Nolan film so we might not have to worry about that ;)

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

I loved Inception and also loved Nolan's Following and Memento. It's not my fault that a certain other movie was a steaming pit of fanboy ambergris. ;)

Pretty sure you spelled "hamburgers" wrong. :p

You (and the other Nolan fans) might appreciate this: I saw a band a couple weeks back whose bassist looked like a young Mark Boone Junior (the hotel clerk in "Memento", Detective Flass in "Batman Begins") in a Ramones t-shirt. It was kinda cool. (Another band that night had a "jack of all trades" musician who looked like Breckin Meyer, but that's less cool, and has nothing to do with Christopher Nolan's movies).

I don't know if that bolded part is true, but you are right about it not having to do with Christopher Nolan. :p

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Up until Dent became Two Face that movie is was great, then it became a long stream of contrived crap.

Amen to that. Luckily that entire part of the movie was completely forgettable. In fact, I didn't even remember that until I read your post.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

I disagree. Many knew there would be a third movie. Two Face was a nice red herring thrown into the mix (as in "Oh, okay, he'll be the main villian in the next movie"), and helped propel the notion of Batman being hated by some, loved by others; a necessary "evil" so to speak.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

I'm not following you guys... what's so different about the film before and after Two-Face?

Is there a change in tone of the film that I'm not aware of? It's not like the movie got more ridiculous at that point, it was pretty ridiculous well before Two-Face came into the picture.

Yes because we all needed that spelled out never mind that to start the movie the public already felt that way and then with the Joker doing his thing it was even more extreme.

Some other resolution with the Joker but keep the overall tone that he's just doing it for the lulz, and leave Two Face out on the loose would have finished off that movie far better than removing one of the best villains for a realistic Batman. FFS, having him survive the fall would have been more realistic than Batman and the generic girl surviving their earlier fall unharmed.

I think they are saying that the Two Face thing was unneeded action/plot that, if edited out, would have made the movie better. But you guys, correct me if I'm wrong in that.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

To be fair, Foxton, I think the intent of the Nolan Batman films is for the characters to be more realistic, as opposed to the story or the events within the story.

Yea pretty much. Or at least the... forced resolution of all the loose ends when a sequel was inevitable/expected. Interplay between Batman and Dent would have made the next one more interesting.
