New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Not even close.

Only good scene in that movie is when Sharon Stone wakes up in the store room wearing a sheet, and only barely.

Which is actually too bad, as it had a great cast, other than Stone.

Ok, the town was called "Redemption." That only lends credence to how bad it was.

Yes, that scene was okay. ;)

Hey, Stone did good in Casino! Yeah, that's all I got on her.

I'm laughing like hell at some of the commits on that video...

I saw this then got boner.... my boner grew a beard which grew a boner, then I came bacon.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

The Quick and the Dead, I think - a remake using the same title as the original. I saw it in the theater, too. I remember about two minutes of that movie. It couldn't have been very good.

Rather than sneak in the alcohol, get a few buddies to go see it at the Vali-Hi drive-in in Woodbury. They'll let you bring in whatever, and you get three movies for $8 or 9. My buddies and I used to go there with a couple coolers, one for drinks and the other full of grilling supplies. And that place has the best movie popcorn ever...the greasiest, butteriest popcorn ever.

Or he could do what I said and go to the theaters that have bars and not getting eaten by mosquitoes the whole time ;)

To be honest, I love the drive in I am just saying I usually go without really worrying about watching the movie :p

I am stoked for this movie...and I'm not a man *checks*...definitely not.

I fear the movie might be lacking one thing: a fight scene between David Keith and Keith David...not that it would be particularly great, it's just something I've always wanted to see. :)

Apparently, there are already talks about a sequel, just based on reactions to the trailers. And depending on how you felt about Rambo IV, that could actually be good news: "It's been confirmed by Stallone himself that he has scrapped Rambo V (and "retired" Rambo) in order to work on The Expendables sequel." ("source") Probably for the best.

Hey, Stone did good in Casino! Yeah, that's all I got on her.
Compared to her "acting" in TQatD, her performance in "Casino" was deserving of something more prestigious than an Oscar.

Got God Grew Tired of Us from Netflix. It was excellent (and I really like the title). The guys they picked to follow were very intelligent and personable, and it was very interesting to see their reactions to adjusting to life in the US, and hear their thoughts on life in Sudan. I was also happy to read in follow-up articles that Daniel was reunited with his family.

I have always wanted to see that fight! I fear though it will be like Time Cop where they try to hit each other and end up merging together and cancelling each other out :p

I liked Rambo, but I am glad there will be no sequel. It was a good end to the series. Expendables 2 better have Carl Weathers!

I watched Rambo on Spike the other night. I agree, good end to the series.

Then you end up with David David and Kieth Kieth.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Saw the reviews for Inception on RogerEbert.com and AVClub.com.

The wait is killing me.

You aren't kidding. The last paragraph tells it all:

The movies often seem to come from the recycling bin these days: Sequels, remakes, franchises. "Inception" does a difficult thing. It is wholly original, cut from new cloth, and yet structured with action movie basics so it feels like it makes more sense than (quite possibly) it does.

To be called "wholly original" by a man that has seen more movies than the rest of us combined is a pretty big compliment if you ask me.

Finally hooked up the Wii to stream Netflix movies. The selection isn't the greatest, but it's enough to please the kids and provide the Sat afternoon or late night filler.

Due to a deal with the studios, places like Netflix and Redbox are delaying releasing New Release DVDs by about a month (IIRC) and in return, the studios are making more movies available (for Netflix, it also means more streaming movies). So a bigger selection will be kicking in a little faster now.

Ya it kinda sucks....Green Zone, Percy Jackson, and Hot Tub Time Machine all came out on the 6th, but aren't available via netflix until the 27th.

I love it. Usually there is a wait to see the new movies anyways, and if it was a movie that important to you you would have seen it already, and it "frees" up a multitude of other movies to see instantly.

HO-LEE CRAP!

Not just a SyFy film, but a SyFy by ROGER CORMAN? In the words of ATHF's Carl: Awesome. Awesome! FRIGGIN' AWESOME!

Looks funnier than most Will Farrell movies.

And you gotta love Eric Roberts (the mad scientist who creates the beast) cruising on his yacht as the thing terrorizes every body of water imaginable. Gee, I wonder what happens to him? ;)
