That is still a load. Just because it is improbable, doesn't mean they aren't a legit team. Their record against TUC's says they haven't just been beating bummy teams. If they get trounced in the NCAAs who cares. I think they have earned it. It is just a ranking after all.

I will take credit for this. I would like to know when the last time SCSU fans pulled a Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. Because I think that is a rep that we have outgrown. Obviously it is fun for everyone to rip us, but I haven't seen even our most boisterous fan claim any future trophies. We know better.

Yes, I am trying, probably futilely to get the JBSU name retired. But I really hate it.

Also I would like to state that for the teams that don't have the hardware of Minnesota, UND, BC, Denver, BU, Michigan, etc (almost forgot Wisconsin). It is a big deal for the teams that don't have that history. It is easier to get someone that isn't a college hockey fan excited about their school's team if you can tell them you have a number one team. If you really love college hockey, I think it is stupid to crap on what Quinnipiac has done this year. For all the people that try to explain to simpletons how the PWR is all about math; QU is number one in the pairwise. They didn't cheat their way there. Letting teams know they have a shot is the best way to expand the game. Quit crapping on the don't-haves.

That's not what created the Jan label, but que sera sera I hardly use it any more myself. :)

I get what Brent is saying in this thread. In his defense Qunnipiac may have a great TUC record but how many of those would be considered quality wins? Conversely, just because Yale, RIT, etc. sputtered in the NCAAs doesn't mean Quinn will too. They have the #1 so far probably deservedly so, let the season play out before we call them overrated.

I agree with much of this. I think this Q team is a good team, but equating TUC wins to high quality wins is a little misguided IMO. Nearly half of college hockey is a TUC.

Quinnipiac has no wins over teams that are Top 10 in the Pairwise, and only 1 win over a Top 15 team in the Pairwise (Dartmouth - Tied for 14th).

On the other hand, they do have a lot of quality wins, and have beaten the teams they were supposed to beat.

Really good team, but there are questions that can be raised about whether they are the best team in the country. In the end though, the only poll that really matters is the one at the end of the season.
