New #1 Team

Re: New #1 Team

Eight points is the spread. But hey, in the ranking system that matters (i.e. PWR), they're still at the top.

Just because I like to argue, not really. The PWR only means something at the moment the selection committee picks teams. It really means nothing at any other time. The poles, even though they really mean nothing, either, are hockey expert’s best guess as to the best teams at this time, and into the future.

So, in all reality, nothing matters. ;)

Re: New #1 Team

But with all this talk about polls, poles, pohl's, I am surprised there is no talk of tubes, especially associated with Michigan, and some might even argue BC post-x-mas (of course on 2 totally different levels, and ignoring recruiting classes, of course). These terms just seem to go hand-in-hand. Not that I'm trying to flame either team, just seems like the time of year those get started (of course the more serious threads start with "time to fire XXXXX").

Wow, that is a very good point. Where is the ugly helmet going down the tubes thread?

Re: New #1 Team

As a Quinnipiac student that has been to a majority of its games I can say that they can look good (third period against Union) and they can look terrible (AIC). It has been a fun season and that is something I am quite sure of.

Great season for sure.

I'm sure the team will be salivating when they see underdogs Notre Dame, North Dakota, Minnesota, and B.C. in front of them in the NCAA's.

Crap. You're here now. Everyone guard the Tubes.

Re: New #1 Team

Less than ZERO sense.
#14 Minnesota State splits with #1 Minnesota...and drops a spot to #15?

Re: New #1 Team

It's not so much MSU-M dropped a spot so much as it is SCSU moved up four.
Don't drag us into this. SCSU is ranked 9th in PWR, 8th in KRACH, 1st in the WCHA, and just took 3 points from UND at the REA. Even so, we're not whining about where they're ranked in the polls. At least, I couldn't care less.

Wow. What a whiny ****** that guy is.

They can have the ranking. Been here, done that.

Clearly we have our eyes more focused on the bigger prize because we could care less about a mid-season ranking. And I guarantee you, we wouldn't be whining if we lost it.

I understand it means more to a team that hasn't been there as often, but to whine about not getting the ranking, all the while saying you are more focused on bigger things, is a little comical IMO.

Just give them the **** ranking so we can all move on please.

Looks at their non-conference games and their losses.... Thinks for a second.... Considers again.... Nope they are top 15 but #1 is the stretch of all stretches. Should be fairly laughable when they are in the tourney at a neutral site and lose. There are teams not even in consideration from the WCHA and Hockey East that are on par at least and could beat them 50/50 any night on any rink.
