Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

SOunds like a fun weekend planned. I'm sure that the team being all freshmen will be SNC's biggest deterrent this season. The girl from team sweden is probably a pretty good catch, but how much is she going to miss for the 4 nations?

Do you know if they plan on webcasting any women's games?
Heard that she may miss a total of 5 games. She will be there for the Friday nite opener.
Have not heard any discussion about webcasting the games, at least for now.
With the parents, for most of the players, being such a long distance from De Pere, I would think that game webcasting will happen eventually.

Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

Do they broadcast any of the Lake Forest womens games, and if so where do you find it? Thanks

they do webcast a handful, you have to look at their website, schedule page. I don't think they plan too far ahead

Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

St. Norbert 2
Bethel University 0

Great game. Great crowd. Great win for the Inaugural season for St. Norbert College womens hockey.

Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

I'm thinking that St. Norbert fans should have their own thread. Not trying to be a jerk here but media guide postings......webcasting postings....green bay gazette postings.....Just sayin', it might be time. Does anyone have any update on the other games? I'm happy my Bdogs are 2-0 but I was impressed with Point's beating of St. Olaf and a bit underwhelmed by LF's 2-0 win over Augsburg. Marian loss- eh, not too surprised.

Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

Lake Forest 2 :)
Ausburg 0

Lake Forest had 23 shot on net in the first, and the Ausburg goalie stops them all; she played very well all night.

As I understand it, Lake Forost is without 4 players right now (injurys, mono) including their top scorer. Place was well supported with fans.

We appreciate your interst in the new SNC program. One thread should be enough for this season.
Don't want to follow the Adrian model from their first men's season with multiple threads going on at the same time.

It's an NCHA thread...SNC is in the NCHA...I don't see a problem with it. Feel free to post as much Adrian stuff as you want. I'm really curious how St Norbert looked last night. I was surprised by the Lake Forest score as well. Really thought they would have put a bigger beat down on the Auggies. I'm wondering if the Pointers are better than expected...or if St. Olaf is not as good as expected??

Should we start an SNC got screwed thread??

I didn't see the whole women's game (due to the men's game going on at the same time).
From what I did see, the top line of Kurth/Ostergaard/Straus will present some problems for the opposing D...plenty of talent among these three ladies.
The top D pair (Agen and Haarala looked very smooth.
Nice crowd on hand last night....got into the game from the drop of the puck.

As a fan I am happy with the win too. However, I do not understand your thinking. Are you saying that LFs win was not quality but the Adrian one was? Let me help you understand this a little. Lf had 51 shots on goal to Augsburgs 25, Adrian was outshot 27 to 20. Shots are not the only measure of a game but they are usually a good sign of who was in control. I went to the Adrian games this week here is how friday went. The two lines that got 80% of the ice time last year could not break out of their own end. I have never seen a line get dominated like these two did it was horrible to watch. One line looked like they were trying to use the "flying V" to break out. Memo to coach the Mighty Ducks is a Disney movie not a training video. I guess you were also UNDERWHELMED by LFs 4-2 win but, ok with Adrian losing 3-1 to a team that only won 7 games all season last year.

Lake Forest 4
Augsburg 2

Lake Forest seemed to play a little sloppy this weekend, not to be unexpected for any of the teams for openers I would think. As mentioned before, they are without 4 players, including the some of last years top scorers. They did control the majority of play (51 shots friday night, the Augs goalie was outstanding) for the weekend none the less.

Re: UWSP Athletic director to retire

Friday, October 29:
Bethel 0 at St. Norbert 2 NC Box 6:00 pm
Augsburg 0 at Lake Forest 2 NC Box 7:00 pm
Oswego 0 at Adrian 2 NC Box 7:00 pm
Saint Mary's 5 at Marian 0 NC Box 7:00 pm
Wis-Stevens Pt. 6 at St. Olaf 1 NC Box 7:00 pm

Saturday, October 30:
Bethel 3 at Concordia (WI) 2 NC OT Box 2:00 pm
Oswego 3 at Adrian 1 NC Box 2:00 pm
Wis-Stevens Pt. 4 at St. Olaf 3 NC Box 2:00 pm
Saint Mary's 2 at St. Norbert 1 NC Box 5:00 pm
Augsburg 2 at Lake Forest 4 NC Box 5:30 pm
Concordia (MN) 4 at Finlandia 1 NC Box 7:00 pm

Sunday, October 31:
Concordia (MN) at Finlandia NC 2:00 pm

Results from this weekend...i'll assume Concordia beats Finlandia again today. Nothing too surprising there as I expect the top 75% of the NCHA to beat the MIAC 90% of the time :). If anything sticks out, it is Adrian's inability to beat the eastern teams once again. By most accounts they were lucky to come out with 1 win this weekend, to a mediocre Oswego team(at least they have been in the past). It is good to see SNC win the first game of their program, and put up a good fight against SMU. They will get their first real test at St. Kate next Friday.

Also looking forward to the debut of St Scholastica next week, as well as, the Lady Yellowjackets beginning their run toward the National Title :) :).

I was curious where Herring was. This explains it. Thanks for the update and hopefully they get better soon! LF was a great story last season and hopefully they can keep the program where it was last year.

Re: NCHA 10-11.....**** You St. Norbert

Note: The Friday November 5th game between St. Kate's and St. Norbert's is NOT at Ridder arena. The game will be played at the Inver Grove Heights Arena do to a scheduling conflict at Ridder. Minnesota plays Wisconsin Friday at Ridder.
