NCAA Tournament Selection and Seeding

You clearly bleed maroon and gold which is fine. Let me put it this way, if I was starting a program from scratch I would take the likes of Mark Johnson, Muzz and Kampersal well ahead of Frost. And I’d trust Saban to come to, for example, the Gophers and turn the program around. I do not believe Frost would have a similar impact if he were suddenly coaching Mankato.

Well, you'd have that right, but you'd be basing that decision on no real concrete evidence. I mean, what are you claiming, Frost had so much better recruits that he should have won 8 straight titles instead of just 4 of the last 8? LOL You people are MORONS.

Morons...? yet you keep hanging around? Having that much anger towards people who had nothing to do with anything you claim, is the definition of Moronic - "Very foolish or stupid" in case you didn't know.

Perhaps you should just leave us to wallow in our stupidity.

Sure, I could do that, not like you care if this forum dies or not. In your stupidity, you may or may not have realized this place was dying when I showed back up, only the leaving of UMn out of the tournament seemed to revive it, for the short term. My guess is with losers like you as the "regulars", the place will die quickly.

Well, when someone having nothing to do with anything get online and publicly defend the shit they had nothing to do with, or publicly argue with anyone objecting to the shit they had nothing to do with, then they open themselves up to being disagreed with. OMG, did I offend you? Do you not have a safe space to retreat to, snowflake?

So address my hypothetical objectively. Of these 4 coaches, who do you think would turn around the Mankato program the fastest? Frost, Johnson, Muzz or Kampersal. And let’s define “turning around the program” as winning the WCHA regular season title and/or getting into the national tournament either through an at-large bid or winning the WCHA tournament. Such an accomplishment would be the very definition of being a great coach from recruiting, to coaching practice, to coaching games.

My order of preference is Muzz, Johnson, Kampersal, Frost (but Frost is a distant 4th).

Hahaha!! Let go of the anger! No offense taken by the way:)!

Glen Mason was GREAT at turning football programs around, taking losers and making them much better. What he wasn't good at, was taking things to the next level.

You accredit Johnson as this incredible coach, yet he went SEVEN STRAIGHT YEARS without winning a Natl Title before the one he won in 2019. How does anyone win 4 titles in 6 years and follow that up with SEVEN STRAIGHT years without a title, if they are such a great coach??? And it's not like he inherited a losing program in the first place, Trina Bourget had the Badgers winning twice as many games as they lost, not an easy task playing in the WCHA. And the name recognition that came with a former Miracle on Ice player whose father won 3 titles for Wisconsin's men's program alone probably got him into any living room he wanted to enter. So did those first 4 titles come because of the huge number of top recruits he got to the program merely because of his name? I mean, he didn't even make the tourney field in 2013 and it took him another 4 years before he made the title game, again, where he lost. How does this qualify him to make your short list?

And Muzz being #1 on your list? lol What has she done that deserves such high praise? lol She's simply this season's PJ Fleck/Shaka Smart, ie, the hot new coach who has resurrected a previously poor program. But just like Fleck & Smart, she hasn't proven she can move up to THE blue blood and manage a team of all-stars. Johnson had a 5 year head start on Frost, yet Frost rose up and out performed Johnson for those 7 years I mentioned. As for Kampersal, what have they accomplished that makes them worthy of being on any list?

Regarding Johnson, I did not take the time to check the records but I believe the program he inherited was not as successful as the program Frost inherited when he came in. And no one has ever thought of Wisconsin as the state of hockey in terms of national-level, homegrown recruits pounding on the door to get in the program which is what the Gophers have always had.

Regarding Muzz, it appears to me over the last three seasons Frost is 6-7-1 vs OSU (but I encourage you to check my math). Now compare the two rosters on paper over the last three years and even you have to admit she has outcoached him in those seasons.

I do enjoy seeing you in my thought bubble pounding on your keyboard with sweat running down your forehead...

Yeah because their diet was all bones and protein, minimal cupcakes.

The WCHA is 42.9% cupcakes and typically spits out more games against bad teams than the ECAC or WHEA. Granted both Minnesota and Wisconsin playing only 6 games against the bottom of the table, but I just don't think they were as good as in years past.

I saw

OSU - slightly up
Wis - slightly down
Min - down
UMD - even
MSU - way up
BSU - way down
SCSU - slightly up

Reminder - I'm further west than any of you so you can't accuse me of bias.

My guess is that TTT was wanting to give positive rep to TitleIX for dissing the Gophers and Badgers. It's all entertainment ...
