MLB 2022: Playing Ball, But Is Anyone Still Watching?

2 out of 3 pretty good. I remembered Sabes pitching for the Sox, didn't remember Viola, and the other was a tough one as he only pitched 1 year for the Amazin's, Orel Hershiser.

I don't remember Saberhagen at all. I remember Frank Viola. And I had to re-read the post again because I thought Tom Seaver was one of them. He pitched for the Sox, right?

I was at the Red Sox game last night. It was freezing. The Blue Jays starting pitcher licked his fingers after throwing ball 3 to JD Martinez and the 1st base ump called ball 4 without a pitch. that was weird.

That he did. 1986
*Living in New Mexico at the time I really didn't follow them that close and wondering why he didn't pitch in the Series against the Mets.

The A's only got 17k to come out for their home opener. Last night they had paid attendance of just 3,748. Tonight, albeit with a last minute adjustment to the start time, they pulled 2,703, their smallest attendance in 43 years.

And now I just read there's a pack of 30-40 feral cats just living in the Coliseum? And they aren't going to relocate them for territorial purposes, expecting new feral cats to takeover if others leave, so they're going to spay and neuter them and bring them back. If anyone is writing a possible Major League reboot at the moment, just throw it out and pick up a camera, because the real life version is happening now.

Didn't they bring the feral cats in to take care of a rat problem?

Miggy: 3,000.

Yadier Molina is next closest at 2116. But won't make it.

Nick Markakis and Jose Reyes were closer, but aren't playing.

Joey Votto at 2035 isn't likely to make it either. Jose Altuve at 1783 has an outside chance if he plays till he's in his 40s.

I think Robinson Cano is next closest, and has an outside shot.

I forget he still exists. Age 39 at 2630. I'm going to say "no".

It’ll depend on health. A third of the players with 3000 hits got theirs in their 40’s, and Cano doesn’t turn 40 until late October. Still averaging a hit per game played for the last four or five years. Signed thru end of next season. I tend to think it’s 60/40 he makes it.
