Yeah, Nolan Ryan was the fireballer. Hell, he threw a pitch 108 mph one time. ; )

It was later in the game (I want to say in the 8th?). The documentary "Fastball" examines all the years of radar guns and the fastball, MIT people adjusted for different measurements and such. Outstanding documentary.

A’s started the season 1-7. Now 14-7, on a 13 game win streak, and the best record in the AL.
With the Mariners a game back at 13-8.

The Angels game tonight will be the first time since Babe Ruth that the MLB leader in home runs will also be a starting pitcher.

Fark the DH.

Despite being a straight nine proponent, isn’t this a fact in favor of the DH? It’s a couple months shy of exactly 100 years since it previously happened. While cool, not exactly showing off the batting prowess of pitchers over the last century.

No.

In any case, there never need be -- nor can there be -- any empirical evidence for or against the proposition of the DH. The DH is a moral crime, and you cannot derive an ought from an is.

I think it's really an argument to never let him pitch again so he doesn't miss any more seasons.
