MLB 2020: We'll Play Ball, I Guess.

Dodgers are 13-2 with a run differential of 41. That’s on pace to go 140-22 and a differential of 442.

Since I posted this they’ve gone 2-7 and don’t even have the outright lead in their division anymore, let alone the entire league. Now on pace for a 101 wins, which ordinarily would still be outstanding, but there are four other teams on pace to match or outdo that.

Run differential is down to 29, which puts them way off the mark for that record breaking year, now projected to not even crack 200. Looking at past years, that still wouldn’t be bad, but in 2019 they were +273.

Welp. Least we're not the Tigers.

That was interesting but my god who is that commenter? Talk about punchable. That's the guy who leaves the bar through the window and then nobody in the bar saw anything when the cops show up.
Jomboy? I like his stuff. He is a Yankees fan though so that might explain it.

I can't stand that affect and accent. I absolutely guarantee he is from somewhere plus or minus ten miles from the Hudson on a line between the Bronx and Poughkeepsie.

Those people make Bostonians seem charming and intelligent.

The voice may be annoying, but he always has interesting comments and reactions and does seem to genuinely enjoy what he's doing.

Orioles P throws no hitter. Only man reached on a K-WP and then thrown out stealing second so he faced 27 up, 27 down.

Mets-Cardinals just played a half hour-long half inning, with just one run. It featured three long delays:

1. Dispute over whether a translator's visit to the mound counts as a mound visit (it does, but it took 10 minutes to review because the umps had fucked up and allowed him to visit without a coach which is illegal)

2. Catcher got his balls rung HARD and stayed down for about 5 minutes of extreme unhappiness.

3. Arenado had a shot at a triple play but dropped the ball running to third, leading to a long dispute about whether he got control back in time to get one force out (he did).

I also thought I heard that this was the first of its kind (no-no, with only blemish a K-WP). Crazy. At least the K-WP happened early. That surely lessened the sting of losing a perfect game on such an odd play.

The Twins have played a total of 30 games this season:

19 have ended in 9 innings. They are 11-8 in those games.

11 have ended in either 7 or 10 innings. They are 0-11 in those games.

Tom Boswell announced that he will be retiring from the Washington Post in June. MLB should fire Manfred the next day and hire Boswell.
