I'm cool with both of these.
Interesting... I like these. Would love to see the results of the mound move. And the DH rule.... seems a decent compromise.

This is the kind of thing that ticks me off.
The entirety of my workforce is now fully vaccinated, both shots.
Except one. 25 year old girl. Feels invincible.
So I went to her the other day and asked her if she was scheduled for the shot, now that Minnesota is open to everyone. Told her everyone else is vaccinated. Her response was, "well, I feel like I'm pretty good because I've already gone through five exposures and I didn't get it, so..."
My response, was "it's free, I'll give you the time off to get it. If it affects you, I'll give you the time off to recover."
Her response was "I really don't think I'm going to get Covid, knock on wood."
By the way, this is the person that on at least four separate occasions during the last year would call me during the evening with a story like "a friend of my roommate got Covid from his mother, should I stay home from work?"

I suspect it's actually cheaper in the long run to give her 2-4 hours now than lose 2 weeks later. Anyways, thumbs up.
The twins most effective reliever is a 5'9", 225 lb turtle who throws 46 mph
Has this ever happened in the modern era this "late" in the season?
(I mean, tortuga has an ERA of 0, but we'll keep this among qualified pitchers)
I assume at some point some guy had a zero ERA April with 4 or 5 starts. You don't even need a shutout streak, you can have teams drop a dozen unearned runs on you (Wednesday we gave up 7 unearned runs in one inning). I mean with his 0.49 ERA deGrom still managed to get one loss and one no decision.
I'm not saying it's inevitable, but I would not be surprised.
Among some of the other fun things deGrom did tonight:
+ retired the final 19, none hitting the ball hard
+ 15 K, career high (didn't K anybody in the final 2 innings) with no walks
+ 50 K in first 4 starts of the season, all-time MLB record (breaks Ryan's 49)
+ Nearly threw his 100th pitch over 100 mph (if anybody else ever did this it's gotta be Ryan)
+ 2 hits including a double, 2 RBI, hit another hard liner right to the CF, got the final put out of the game on an acrobatic catch of a 3-1 ground out
It was pure fun. And we finally gave him run support so he could actually enjoy it.
He went to Stetson University. I laughed and thought to myself, "What's their mascot? A hat?"

oh
Ryan wasn't a fireballer to that extent I didn't think.
In MLB history, the highest adjusted ERA+, which accounts for ballpark and league factors, was 293 by Tim Keefe in 1880. Pedro Martinez set the modern record with a mark of 291 in 2000. An average ERA+ is, by definition, 100.
Jacob deGrom's adjusted ERA+ is currently 1,245.
