I commend everyone to the game thread on Amazing Avenue. It captures the spirit of the thing.

Dang, it's over. I was hoping it would beat that Pawtucket AAA game that went 33 innings.

As far as I could tell from the gamecast, StL was out of pitchers, as they had Lohse playing LF, and a SS and CF pitching at the end of the game.

NY couldn't have been that far behind in that department.

Well we ended up using a SP to close out the game, but the bullpen was managed much smarter by Manuel (yes, smarter and Manuel went in the same sentence) than by LaRussa. LaRussa over-managed the game.

Agreed. I mean, when you have to rely on a pitcher to play a position for more than an inning, etc etc, while your opponent used the designated closer in the 18th-19th.....something is wrong there.

According to the tv broadcast i was listening to (since i couldn't find a video of it on justintv) the Mets only had their starting pitcher from last night left on the bench, and I think the Cards had two or three left.

Milwaukee is winning 10-0 in the 1st inning with 1 out. The only out recorded has been a sac fly by pitcher Doug Davis.

Jason Marquis was pulled before recording an out. He was tagged with 7 earned runs.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

FINALLY found a baseball game to watch on TBS. Here's what's on the rest of the channels right now:

CBS: dirt bikes
ABC: infomercial
Fox: NASCAR
ESPN: bowling
ESPN2: tennis
FSN: poker

And it looks like the Twins might be starting on My29.

The good news is he isn't on my fantasy roster. :)
The bad news he isn't on my opponent's either. :(
