MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

He had another problem even if he had finished the bottom of the 9th.

He was at 100 pitches and the game was 0-0, and he's a rookie.

Hard to believe he could go more than 10.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

You made it sound like the Yankees were desperate for another starter. The Yankees will most likely use their prospects to fix their real needs, such as bullpen and another veteran bat on the bench.

And there's probably a good chance that after the next offseason, Lee might very well be in pinstripes, anyway.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Suck it Yankee fans...There is a God.

Lee to Rangers for Smoak and others!

I'd rather he had gone to the Yankees. They would have given up some of their super-prospects to get Lee and it would have been a negligible benefit for them and he would have ended up there anyway.

I guess its like this. For a negligible benefit to the Yankees they would have given up their best prospect.

Especially because they'll get him for nothing as a f.a. after the season....

Dude, don't take this away from him. Let him think the Yankees have taken such a mighty hit.

Well they get him in exchange for their first round pick which isn't exactly nothing and since the Yankees are willing to go over-slot, they'd just grab someone in the second for first round money.

So yes, in a way this is actually good for the Yankees.

No i made it sound like the Yankees didn't need one because they were already too good.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

People who think there is such a thing as "too good" have a loser mentality.

Or knowing the difference between a realist and a fantasy.

No one can touch the Yanks, just like last year. They don't need Lee.

They already have three pitchers with 11 wins this season.

Their line-up has an all-star at every position basically.

Yes they are too good for 90% of the teams in MLB and with Lee and/or Werth they would have been unbeatable.

Did you mean something by this, or did you just think you were being clever?

I love the whining. It's my favorite part of being a Yankee fan - listening to the ones who can't get over their obsessions whine.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Yes because being a Yankee fan is so "hard"...

I can't believe you fancy yourself a writer. Usually when one uses quote marks, they're actually quoting something that was said. When did I ever say it was hard? I said I ENJOY listening to you whine and cry.

Looks like being you is to be so "bitter."

An actual reporting gig beats being the USCHO tough guy jack*** anyday:cool:

Enjoy your "job".

Like I said... it amazes me that someone is actually interested in printing that which you write, especially since so few are actually interested in reading it.

I heard you once threw a little tantrum when your team crashed out before the championship and then dragged your feet covering the championship because of it. Yeah, that's what "actual reporters" do.

And I'm hardly a tough guy. Most people who get the truth explained to them by me (and can't deal with it rationally) tend to get upset and think I'm a "tough guy," though. I'm used to it.

It's too bad your first statement completely contradicts your second statement about truth.

You don't have a clue what the facts were in that case.

The delay of the article was hardly due to what you are referring to. But, please keep spouting off about that which you know nothing of.

Are you a USCHO reporter? Do you have to pay your own way to go cover the Division III championship?

I think that you do not understand the meaning of the word "contradiction."

You don't have a clue what the facts were in that case.

Losers make excuses. Winners go home and engage in sexual relations with the prom queen.

Since you haven't enlightened me, yet lashed out, I can do nothing but raise an eyebrow and grin.

Are you a USCHO reporter? Do you have to pay your own way to go cover the Division III championship?

No. That's YOUR job, remember? Gosh, do I need to tell you everything?

Pretty much my thinking, too. I understand/believe that there's no such thing as "too much pitching", but it's not like the Yankees are desperate. Lee would have been a nice addition for the Yanks, but without him, they're still the odds-on favorites to win this year, and probably have a better-than-average (yes, I'm low-balling here) shot at signing Lee without selling off a chunk of their future.

Especially because they'll get him for nothing as a f.a. after the season....
As TBA pointed out, they'd get a draft pick for him, but that's if they didn't re-sign him, which I would imagine they'd do.

Unless he REALLY likes Dallas, or some other market, the Yankees have to believe they have a shot at signing him this winter.

They'd lose draft picks, right? But, those are unknown players, and they get to keep the prospects they've already developed.

Yeah, I can't see any Yankees fan being distraught over the deal not going through.

well it will be a first round pick assuming they dont sign carl crawford or some other mega star.. because then lee's compensation will be relegated to a second round pick.

now wouldnt that be a stinker.

If Brett Gardner keeps playing the way he's been playing, they may not need to sign Crawford - because right now, Gardner's a cheaper version.
