That Mr. Muggy is an a-hole. Seriously, who keeps inviting him back to the party?
Yeah, no kidding. It was beautiful at 3pm. Now? Blecch. Just in time for me to dust off the ol' glove (after 2-3 years) and play softball. Should be comical.
I stopped playing softball on a regular basis when it became more about how much money you had tied up in bats than actual ability. And it sucks playing in this heat...

For the last dozen years our sponsor was Sportsworld so (we had 3 different sponsors the first either years) bats were real cheap.![]()
No $hit...but even more annoying is the affect the weather this spring / summer has had on the Minnesota state bird. Good for them...bad for the rest of us. Worst summer in recent memory for the pesky skeeters. I can't even venture into my backyard early morning, evening or after the sun sets. Work in the garage...sit out and enjoy the evening with a beverage as it cools off a little, not a chance. Those clip on little anti skeeter fan things...don't waste your money. Ineffective. That Mr. Muggy is an a-hole. Seriously, who keeps inviting him back to the party?

I've honestly yet to find a product that truly keeps them away. Nothing has worked for me. It always ends the same way, me waking up the next morning covered in bugs bites or ending the evening's outdoor festivities early due to them.
Simple, just build up a tolerance to them. Not sure why but either they don't bite me or I don't get the reaction to them. Very odd but I'm not going to complain!![]()

The house I'm buying has a little swamp behind it. I'm going to be living in a mosquito hotbed. It's not a tolerance per se, it's that your body is not allergic to the saliva that's injected when they penetrate the skin.
Fortunately, my neighborhood and those around us were built on sandy soil and from what I've been told it's much harder for them to breed. This makes sense because we've rarely been bothered by them in three summers since moving here despite there being several ponds in the area.
Some areas of southern minnesota have received over 6 inches of rain.
If only it were a little colder. I could go for a good blizzard, its been a while.Listening to the evil neighbor (insert old, geek, guy joke here) this morning some areas south of Mankato received 10-12 inches of rain.
